Heartbroken that Joe B. Hall is gone.
He was a Kentucky treasure and a gift to all of us who were lucky enough to know him. I have so many wonderful memories of him.
He always had a big smile and hug for me.
The last text he sent to me said, “Still need that hug.” pic.twitter.com/VxIg91BxF4— Jennifer Palumbo (@JenNimePalumbo) January 15, 2022
When Joe became the men’s basketball coach at the University of Kentucky in 1972, he had no experience as a head coach at a large college and was one of the most famous people in the sport.
For 13 seasons as the Kentucky Head Coach, Hall has faced the effects of some Wildcats fans, who had a reputation for viewing any season outside of the national tournament as a failure. But he was a huge success as a coach.
