Anthony Campo – Keith Pool KKK Accusations
Anthony Campo, the former police chief of the Sheffield Lake Police, left Keith Pool, an African-American officer, with a message KKK (Ku Klux Klan) on his raincoat.
The officer then confronted the chief about it, but he just made a cone-shaped hat resembling the hoods worn by Klansmen using some paper and wore it.
The incident of 25 June 2021 didn’t gain vast attention until Keith spoke about it publically on Thursday, 12 November. The victim was the first black officer in the department at his recruitment, making it significantly complicated when the U.S. is battling racism.
Additionally, Keith’s lawyers obtained a video of the incident through a public records request. After that, the officer filed a discrimination complaint and a petition for a writ of mandamus with the Ohio Supreme Court, seeking the full release of Campo’s personnel records. Furthermore, he also complained against the police department for failing to stop the racist misconduct of the then-police chief.

Regarding Campo, he acknowledged his actions but said that it was a joke. However, he resigned after Sheffield Lake Mayor Dennis Bring put him on administrative leave.
In addition to this incident, officer Pool also said that Campo previously called him racial slurs and posted racist flyers on a bulletin board targeting him and another Hispanic officer.
It isn’t the only time the former police chief has been controversial. Reports of 2018 suggest that Anthony played a significant role in more than 30 questionable underground online gun sales.
