Cher’s full name at birth was Cherilyn Sarkisian, and she was born on May 20, 1946 in ElCentro, California to an Armenian-American truck driver with drug and gambling problems and an Irish, German, English and Cherokee mother who was an occasional model and actress was.
As Cher grew up, she and her family had little, since her mother eventually had to leave her in an orphanage, so she visited her every day. Her fascination with entertainment started early.
