Chas Newby wife: Is Chas Newby married?

Charles Newby, a popular stage name for British singer, was born on June 18, 1941. He replaced Stuart Sutcliffe, who was then concentrating on his art career in Hamburg, Germany, as the Beatles’ bassist for a brief period of time.

When The Beatles returned from their first tour of West Germany, they were without a bass guitarist. Pete Best, a current Beatles member and previous member of The Black Jacks, suggested adding Chas Newby to the lineup. College student Newby agreed to join the Beatles and play bass for them while they were on holiday.

The Beatles and Chas Newby performed together four times in December 1960. These concerts were placed on December 17 at the Casbah Club in Liverpool, on December 24 at the Grosvenor Ballroom in Liscard, on December 27 at the Litherland Town Hall, and once more on December 31 at the Casbah Club.

After these shows, John Lennon asked Newby to accompany the band on their second tour to West Germany, but Newby decided to return to school instead. After Newby left, Paul McCartney, who had previously played guitar and piano, reluctantly took over as the Beatles’ bass player.
