The Canterville Ghost 2022 was largely filmed in Eastnor Castle.
Eastnor Castle was used as the filming location for the original 1986 film The Canterville Ghost as well. The sharing of sets has built a deep connection between the two adaptations of the same story at different times.
Eastnor Castle is a 19th-century mock castle built between 1811 and 1820 by John Cocks, 1st Earl Somers. Robert Smirke, who later served as the main architect of the British Museum, was employed in the building of the castle.
The castle offers public visits on fixed dates and it can also be booked for weddings, corporate events, and private parties, and rented for night stays. Details about the books can be found on the castle’s website.
However, the castle has been used as a filming location for the last 50 years now. The castle was found as a filming location by MGM studios for the first time in 1969 and the first film to be filmed at the castle is One More Time, a British comedy film.
