Chad Daybell Update 2022: Where Is He Now?

With regard to the deaths of her children, Tylee and JJ, who once resided in Arizona, Lori Vallow Daybell and her husband, Chad Daybell, are currently being held in custody in Idaho. Additionally, Chad and Lori are both accused of additional crimes related to the deaths of their ex-spouses.

A court decision was stating that Lori Vallow Daybell’s competency had been restored and her case could proceed led to her being charged before an Idaho judge last month. After the allegations were brought in May 2021, Chad was arraigned the following year.

The allegations against Chad and Lori Vallow Daybell in Idaho were all met with a not guilty plea from each of them. The death penalty may also apply to Chad Daybell. 

In September 2019, Lori relocated from Arizona to Idaho with her children. Before the month’s end, they vanished.

Daybell’s first wife, Tammy Daybell, passed away in October 2019 following the disappearance of the children. She was first thought to have passed away in her sleep, but detectives later concluded that her death was strange, unearthed her body, and accused Daybell and Lori of being responsible for her passing.

Lori and Chad Daybell wed in Hawaii a few weeks following Tammy’s passing.

Investigators think Lori and Chad Daybell had left Rexburg around 2019 Thanksgiving when officers initially stopped to check on her children’s welfare.

What Happened to Chad Daybell After His Arrest?

Chad Guy Daybell, a self-published author of more than 20 books about near-death experiences and end-of-the-world scenarios, was charged with two counts of destroying, altering, and concealing evidence on June 9, 2020, and was subsequently taken into custody.

Nearly four months after Lori was detained for desertion and failing to provide for her dependent children, local authorities in Salem, Idaho, discovered the skeleton remains of Tylee and J.J. on his property.

This indictment was handed down on that day. At that point, Chad’s initial claim that Tammy Daybell’s death was natural had already been challenged.

Chad entered a not guilty plea to the accusations brought against him in August 2020, but later on, on May 25, 2021, first-degree murder charges were brought against him in connection with the deaths of Tylee, J.J., and Tammy.

But around two months later, the prosecution decided to concentrate on the homicide and other crimes rather than charging Chad and Lori with conspiring to obstruct justice or destroy, modify, or conceal evidence.

Many think that the couple’s unwavering commitment to their relationship and allegiance to the doomsday philosophy caused their deaths.

On March 9, 1990, Chad Guy Daybell wed Tamara “Tammy” Douglas in Manti, Utah. He earned a B.A. in journalism from Brigham Young University (BYU) in 1992[13] and worked as a gravedigger and in other professions throughout his career.

Chad established Spring Creek Book Company in 2004, using it to print his end-of-the-world novels and other religious literature. A graphic artist and manager named Douglas was his business partner, who went by that name only in the media. Chad and Tammy had five children: Garth, Emma, Seth, Leah, and Mark.

Chad asserted that a voice instructed him to move to Rexburg, Idaho, in 2015. That June, he and Tammy relocated there from Springville, Utah.

Tylee Ryan, Colby Ryan, and Joshua Vallow are the three children of Lori Vallow.

Joshua “JJ” Vallow was seven years old when he vanished, and Tylee Ryan was sixteen. The news has not mentioned Colby’s age.

Tylee, Colby, and JJ are not Chad Daybell’s biological children. He is their stepfather.

Lori Vallow’s brother murdered their actual biological father. In a Phoenix neighbourhood, Charles Vallow was shot and killed by her brother, Alex Cox.

Garth Daybell is a child that Chad Daybell has with his ex-wife Tammy Daybell. Garth’s age hasn’t been made public.
