She began modeling, at age 14 and when she was sixteen and Seventeen she was modeling for local department stores, Delia’s fashion catalog . She briefly appeared in R&B singer Mario’s “Just a Friend 2002″ music video. Cassie, encouraged by producer Rockwilder, took vocal lessons, modern ballet, as well as using her school’s performing arts program.

She graduated from high school in 2004, instead of going to college like her peers she moved to New York City, where she returned to modeling and classes at the Broadway Dance Center. While in New York, she began booking print and commercial modeling gigs and being represented by Wilhelmina Models.

In the late 2004, she was spotted by Ryan Leslie, and American recording artist and record producer. The two wrote a duet,”Kiss me ” and later she was signed to NextSelection Livestyle Group by Leslie. Her first single, Me and U, was wrote and produced by Leslie in 2005.

During this time, Sean Combs heard her song, “Me and U” in a club and he was convinced by Leslie to partner his Bad Boy records with his NextSelectio for the release of Cassie’s debut album. Most of the album which is a mix of R&B, hiphop and pop was produced by Leslie. To pay tribute to her Filipino culture, she incorporated OPM sounds into some of the ballads. Her album was released on August 8, 2006 and it sold over 321,000 copies in the United States. Her lead single, Me & U, peaked at number 3 on the BillBoard Hot 100. It sold more than 1 million digital downloads.

In 2008, as Sophie Donovan in the dance film Step Up 2: The Streets, she made her film debut and sang the lead single “Is It You” to the Step Up Soundtrack. The song was released on November 13, 2007. It peaked at 85 on the Canadian Hot 100 and 52 in the United Kingdom.

In 2009, she released her album Electro love which demonstrated more independence, difference in vocals and a little bit of more personality just as she had said. three singles have been released from the album: In August 2008, she released Official girl featuring Lil Wayne, in April 2009, she released Must be love featuring Diddy and in August 2009, she released Let’s get crazy featuring Akon. In December 2009, she has signed a new record deal with Interscope Records. Sean “Diddy” Combs’ ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura just went Instagram official with professional bull rider Alex Fine, but the relationship may not be as new as it appears — at least Diddy doesn’t think so.

The music mogul, 49, believes Ventura, 32, cheated on him with Fine, a source tells PEOPLE. Ventura just introduced her new beau to her followers on Saturday when she posted a photo of herself and Fine sharing a kiss on the lips.

But Fine and Ventura have known each other for months, the source says. The pair met when Diddy hired the bull rider to be her personal trainer before their split was announced in October, the insider claims.

The source explained why Diddy believed “there was absolutely overlap.” Said the source: “Cassie wanted a personal trainer, so Diddy hired Alex for her. Then Cassie and Alex started hooking up before her relationship with Diddy was over.”
