As the host of The Carol Duvall Show, which has been on the air for over a decade, Carol Duvall first appeared on the HGTV network and subsequently on the DIY Network. Her television career started in 1951 when she appeared on a children’s programme in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She and a buddy decided to attend to an audition for a television station after learning that a local radio station had purchased a television station. The station was impressed with what they had to offer, and Duvall was employed as a result. By the end of the first year, she was doing seventeen live performances a week on the tour circuit. A year later, the station’s boss relocated to a television station in Detroit, where he recruited Duvall to work as a production assistant. “Here’s Carol Duvall” was her first craft-oriented show, which she hosted for 18 years. She worked in a number of roles throughout that time, from news anchor to co-producer and host. She got a phone call from a guy she had met when he was still an intern in Cleveland many years ago. He was putting up a new programme called the Home Show, and they were in need of a crafty individual. A year later, ABC took up the programme, which lasted for six years. Upon the conclusion of the Home Show’s run in 1994, its presenter Robb Weller joined up with producer Gary Grossman to establish a production business that went on to produce The Carol Duvall Show. The show aired on HGTV from 1994 to 2005, and then on DIY Network from 2005 until the end of 2009. It was cancelled in 2009. At Michigan State University, Duvall was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega sorority, which she joined after graduation.
