Carol Duvall Career

She began her broadcast career with a daily children’s television show in Grand Rapids, Mich., in 1951. She spent 18 years in Detroit as host of an hour-long morning show, and was co-producer for the show. She also hosted a five-minute craft-oriented program that aired daily for 14 years, and in the 1980s was featured as a family member on “The Home Show” on ABC-TV.

Duvall began making unique paper creations when she was a child, selling her designs in the neighborhood where she lived. She later partnered with a friend to produce an interesting and entertaining children’s show, which led to the first live television program to be aired in Grand Rapids.

One of the weekly features on the show was called “Doing Day,” where Duvall demonstrated creative crafts that viewers could make at home. The segment helped to launch Duvall to her present-day status as the queen of crafts.

Duvall’s first craft book, published in 1972, was titled “Wanna Make Something Out of It’” Before there was such a thing as crafting stores and products, Duvall was simply using her creativity to fashion original objects out of what was on hand. “That’s where my mind still goes when I have a project to create,” she says. “I think ‘What do I have in the house’’”

Her most recent book, “Paper Crafting with Carol Duvall,” published in 2007, has more than 45 projects in a variety of paper crafting categories, including card and envelope making, gift boxes, crafting with photos, embellishments, papercraft ideas from Duvall’s viewers, and more.

“I began making things with paper before paper crafting was called art,” she said, “and many of the designs in my book are projects I’ve developed over many years. There are also new ideas that I’ve created just for the book.”  In her usual style, Duvall employs ordinary, easy to find materials, and a good dose of humor.

The show is devoted to demonstrating and teaching a wide variety of crafts from extremely basic “cut and glue” tasks to intricate polymer clay creations. Duvall’s program was one of the original offerings on the recently established Home and Garden Television organize in 1994, and it has remained one of the ways of life system’s most popular shows all through its 12-year run.

She acquainted many polymer clay artists with the community including Judy Belcher, Maureen Carlson, Kim Cavender, Katherine Dewey, Emi Fukushima, Syndee Holt, Debbie Jackson, Donna Kato, Barbara McGuire, Ann Mitchell, Karen Mitchell, Becky Meverden, Lisa Pavelka, Gail Ritchey, Nan Roche, Michelle Ross, and Bob Wiley who have motivated innumerable polymer enthusiasts.

The Carol Duvall Show also featured meetings with crafters and fine artists – painters, sculptors, glass-blowers, and so on with footage of them at work in their studios. Early Life: David Lawrence Schwimmer was born on November 2nd of 1966 in Flushing, Queens, New York City. Raised in a Jewish household alongside an older sister by parents who were both attorneys, David’s family soon relocated to Los Angeles. Once there, David became enamored with acting and developed a passion for Shakespeare. David’s family eventually relocated to Beverly Hills, where he attended high school. Schwimmer felt like an outsider during his high school years and planned to become a doctor after excelling in math and science. However, his passion for acting never went away, and David continued to enroll in drama classes and summer acting programs. After high school, David Schwimmer attended Northwestern University and joined an improv group that included Stephen Colbert. He graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in theater and speech. Although he founded the Lookingglass Theater Company in Chicago after graduating from university, he soon returned to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. Career: David Schwimmer’s first roles were in TV shows such as L.A. Law, The Wonder Years, NYPD Blue, and Monty. He also appeared in films such as A Deadly Silence and Flight of the Intruder. Schwimmer’s breakthrough came in 1994 when he was cast as Ross Geller in Friends. The first episode was viewed by 22 million Americans, and the show quickly developed a loyal following. During his time on Friends, Schwimmer branched out with roles in movies such as The Pallbearer, Kissing a Fool, Six Days, Seven Nights, Picking Up the Pieces, and Apt Pupil. Another notable moment in Schwimmer’s career came in 2001 when he starred in the World War II miniseries Band of Brothers. Schwimmer played Captain Sobel, a neurotic and disliked officer in the United States Army. In 2005, he started voicing Melman the giraffe in the Madagascar film series. Over the next period, David Schwimmer started to direct movies such as Run Fatboy Run. he also made his Broadway debut with The Caine Mutiny Court Martial. Among other series, David Schwimmer appeared in Feed the Beast, Homecoming, and Intelligence. Relationships: In 2010, David Schwimmer married Zoe Buckman. The next year, they had a child together. In 2017, the couple divorced after taking time apart from each other. David Schwimmer “Friends” Salaries and Royalties: For the first season of Friends, each cast member earned $22,500 per episode. That works out to $540,000 for the first season. Their salaries were boosted to $40,000 per episode in the second season, which is the equivalent of $960,000 per year. Before their contracts expired at the beginning of the third season, the main cast decided to band together as a group in order to renegotiate their renewed contracts. After a successful series of negotiations, the studio settled on a salary of $75,000 per episode for each main cast member during season three. This is the equivalent of $1.875 million per year. This renewed contract also specified an increase in wages as the seasons went forward. The main cast of Friends enjoyed a salary of $85,000 per episode for season four ($2.04 million per year), $100,000  per episode for season 5 ($2.5 million per year) and $125,000 per episode for season 6 ($3.125 million per year). But that cast wasn’t finished yet. Before season seven began, the cast once again returned to the negotiating table with even more demands. As the cast stuck together and fought as a single group, the studio was forced to accept their demands of $750,000 per episode in seasons seven and eight, which equates to earnings of $18 million per season. This insanely lucrative new contract also specified an amount of $1 million per episode for seasons nine and ten. In the end, the main cast of Friends earned $24 million for season nine and $18 million for season 10. All in all, David Schwimmer earned approximately $90 million in base salary alone from the show, just like every other main cast member – and that’s before backend bonuses and on-going royalties entered the equation. Royalties: When David Schwimmer and the rest of the main cast of Friends renegotiated their contracts in 2000, they also worked backend points into the deal that paved the way for tremendous royalties once the show entered syndication.  These types of deals were incredibly rare, as only figures like Jerry Seinfeld and Bill Cosby had managed to hash out similar contracts. The Friends brand continues to generate more than $1 billion per year in syndication royalties and streaming deals. This means that during a single year, David Schwimmer can collect between $10-20 million in royalties alone. Real Estate: In 1998, David Schwimmer paid $425,000 for a loft in Chicago. After initially putting the condo on the market for $1.15 million, Schwimmer eventually lowered the price and sold the property for $965,000 in 2020. In 2001, Schwimmer paid $5.6 million for an extensive mansion in the exclusive neighborhood of Hancock Park in Los Angeles. The 11,336-square-foot house features nine bedrooms, five fireplaces, and a wood-paneled library. The outdoor area features tennis courts and a swimming pool. After initially listing the mansion for $10.7 million in 2011, David Schwimmer eventually lowered the price and sold the property in 2012 for just under $8.9 million. In 2010, New York City became Schwimmer’s primary residence when he purchased a townhome in Manhattan’s East Village for $3.9 million. Schwimmer then redeveloped the property through a limited liability company, completely demolishing the historic 1852 property and replacing it with a five-story, brick townhouse.

He is best known for being a member of the popular band One Direction and also has a successful solo career. Early Life: Born in Mullingar, County Westmeath Ireland on September 13, 1993, Niall Horan attended Coláiste Mhuire, a Christian school, where he performed with the school’s choir. His parents, Bobby Horan and Maura Gallagher, split when he was five years old. After spending a year living with their mother, Niall and his brother decided to move in with their father. He began playing the guitar while he was in elementary school, and performed with various groups as a young teen, including serving as musical support for Lloyd Daniels. Horan attended St. Kenny’s National School and taught himself to play guitar at age 11 by following YouTube tutorials. His aunt discovered his talent when she was in a car with him and he began singing–she originally thought the radio was on. As a teenager, Horan performed at the Mullingar Arts Centre during a fundraiser for the local football team The Shamrocks. One Direction: In 2010, when he was 16, Horan competed in the seventh season of “The X-Factor” in London, as a solo artist, but was subsequently invited to compete as part of a group created by the show called One Direction. Following “The X Factor,” One Direction was signed by Simon Cowell to a 2 million dollar Syco record contract. They began recording their debut album in Los Angeles in January 2011. The next month, a book licensed by the band “One Direction: Forever Young (Our Official X Factor Story)” was released and topped the Sunday Times Best Seller list. Later that month, the band participated in the X Factor Live Tour. The tour concluded in April and the band continued to record their debut album in London. Their first single, “What Makes You Beautiful”, was released in September 2011 and was a global commercial success, with the song reaching No. 1 in several countries. Their singles “Gotta Be You” and “One Thing” became top ten hits immediately in the UK.
