Carlos Dunlap is an American football defensive end who currently plays for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs (NFL). Dunlap played college football in Florida, where he won a National Championship in 2009. He was selected in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals.
After his sophomore season, Dunlap was projected to be a first-round pick and an obvious top-ten pick in 2010. After a solid junior season and a DUI arrest, his draft stock began to fall.
On January 1, 2010, it was publicly announced that Dunlap would forego his remaining eligibility and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.
Dunlap participated in the NFL Scouting Combine and performed every positional exercise. His all-around performance was deemed inadequate by various scouts, and team officials were unimpressed with him throughout the interview process.
