Carlos Castaneda Net Worth, Income, Salary, Earnings, Biography

In a series of publications that began with Don Juan: The Teachings of Don Juan in 1968, Castaeda describes his training in shamanism, especially his association with a group that he refers to as the Toltecs. He recounts his experiences under the tutelage of a Yaqui “Man of Knowledge” called Don Juan Matus in the novels, which are written in the first-person perspective. His 12 novels have been translated into 17 languages and have sold more than 28 million copies worldwide. Despite accusations that they are works of fiction, proponents maintain that the books are either factual or at the very least important works of philosophy and explanations of techniques that help people become more conscious of their own actions. Castaeda withdrew from public view in 1973 in order to work on his inner development further. He lived in a large house with three women whom he referred to as “Fellow Travellers of Awareness,” who were willing to cut their ties with their families and change their names in order to work on themselves. Tensegrity, a supposedly ancient Toltec regimen of spiritually potent exercises, was promoted by Cleargreen, an organisation he established in order to spread the word.
