Carice Van Houten Simpsons

“Let’s Go Fly a Coot” is the twentieth episode of the twenty-sixth season of the American animated sitcom The Simpsons, and the 572nd overall episode of the series. It first aired on the Fox network in the United States on May 3, 2015. The episode’s title is a parody of the song “Let’s Go Fly a Kite”.

The Simpsons are invited to Milhouse’s birthday party, which is shown to be a big expensive party, so much that Kirk has to sell the house in order to pay for it. When Marge and Homer think that all birthdays are getting too expensive, Homer takes drastic measures by ruining other kids’ big birthdays; however, the party committee discover Homer’s deeds and at first put a black mark on the Simpsons, preventing Bart, Lisa and Maggie from ever having another birthday party, but Homer is given a deal to make sure the kids can have one again. Homer must give Rod a magical birthday party or the black mark will remain (that and Bart threatens to wake Homer up on Saturdays with pots and pans).

When the party takes place at the Springfield Air & Space Museum, the Simpsons are surprised when one of the veteran pilots being honored at a ceremony recognizes Grandpa and tells them of Homer’s dad’s service with the pre-USAF air command services during World War II. The veterans aren’t happy that Homer and Grandpa are estranged and actively intervene in the relationship, forcing Homer to hug Abraham at gunpoint.

Grandpa eventually reveals that he was in love with a waitress at the main diner near the base but wasn’t brave enough to attract her attention, so he stopped his regular maintenance job and took a supersonic flight that nearly killed him but won over the waitress—who was Mona, Homer’s mom. Bart undertakes his own quest to get a girl to like him when Milhouse’s Dutch cousin Annika shows up for a visit. She constantly complains about American culture and introduces Bart to goofy Dutch games and vaping, which he gets addicted to. When Annika is heading to the airport to fly home, Bart desperately races there so he can talk to her before she goes.

Annika scoffs at his typical “American gesture” but Bart shuts her up by telling her he actually doesn’t like her because she does nothing but complain and is only nice to people when she wants something from them. He dumps the remaining e-cigarettes and walks away from her, leaving Annika feeling humiliated by being dumped by a friend of Milhouse’s and starts cursing in Dutch. Homer and Grandpa are on good terms again and Homer first grills, then blends up, a big steak to honor his heroic dad. When they don’t work, he puts it in an e-cig, to Grandpa’s pleasure.

Carice Van Houten with Guy Pearce

Guy Pearce has revealed he struggled with suicidal thoughts following his split from wife of 18 years, Kate Mestitz in 2015. Speaking to the Herald Sun, the 50 year old actor admitted he was at his lowest whilst filming overseas in the months that followed his relationship breakdown.

‘I had a little period in the middle of 2015 where I was staggering across busy streets in Berlin where I thought, “If I get knocked down by a car, that will be an easy way out,”‘ he confessed.

‘I wasn’t wanting that but I think probably like Jeff Buckley when he went swimming in Wolf River that time, “If a current takes me down then so be it.”‘

Thankfully, the Australian actor was able to get himself back on trach, crediting music for helping to set him on the road to recovery. I was literally sitting there for hours at night, drinking, playing chords over and over and crying and crying — it was really pathetic,’ he said. Guy is now in a relationship with actress Carice van Houten, who he met while filming Western film Brimstone in late 2015. The couple welcomed their son, Monte in August 2016.

Carice Van Houten Pregnant

While out with her partner, Guy Pearce, the fresh-faced actress showed off a darker ‘do and as well as one major addition: her pregnant belly. Van Houten swathed her baby bump in a navy wrap coat and wore a pair of round black glasses, which gave her a vastly different look from what GoT fans are used to seeing. The actress has been lying low since she announced confirmed her pregnancy on Twitter in March. “Ok. I’m ready for your shadowbaby jokes,” she wrote in her announcement—a reference to the demon child she birthed on the hit HBO series.

You are not going to see me that much but in season 3 that we are going to shoot this summer I’ll come back with a vengeance.” Regarding her role she said “I’m [Stannis’] right hand. I manipulate him. I take the decisions for him almost. I wouldn’t say I’m a very sympathetic character. I have a great wig, great red hair. I hope I did it right.”

Carice Van Houten Zwartboek

Black Book is a 2006 thriller film co-written and directed by Paul Verhoeven and starring Carice van Houten, Sebastian Koch, Thom Hoffman, and Halina Reijn. The film, credited as based on several true events and characters, is about a young Jewish woman in the Netherlands who becomes a spy for the resistance during World War II after tragedy befalls her in an encounter with the Nazis. The film had its world premiere on 1 September 2006 at the Venice Film Festival and its public release on 14 September 2006 in the Netherlands. It is the first film that Verhoeven made in the Netherlands since The Fourth Man, made in 1983 before he moved to the United States.

The press in the Netherlands was positive; with three Golden Calves, Black Book won the most awards at the Netherlands Film Festival in 2006. The international press responded positively, as well, especially to the performance of Van Houten. It was nominated for the BAFTA Award for Best Film Not in the English Language, and was the Dutch submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film in 2007, but was not nominated.

At the time of release, it was the most expensive Dutch film ever made, and also the Netherlands’ most commercially successful, with that country’s highest box-office gross of 2006. In 2008, the Dutch public voted it the best Dutch film ever.

‘Game of Thrones’ mystery: Who will end up on the Iron Throne?

TV July 10, 2018 11:00AM

“When you play the game of thrones, you win or you die.” No quote better encapsulates the brutal jockeying for power witnessed in HBO’s “Game of Thrones.” Seemingly, every citizen of Westeros has desired the Iron Throne at some point, and most have died in their efforts to claim it. Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) is the current occupant, but it may be difficult for her to maintain power. With just one season left of the series, the music is about to stop in this deadly game of musical chairs. When the dust has settled on this fantasy epic, who will end up seated on the Iron Throne?

Jon Snow – He’s battled wights, killed a white walker, and even come back from the dead. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) is the most obvious candidate for the Iron Throne. Not only does he have a compelling character arc that sees the bastard outcast transform into a heroic leader, but Melisandre (Carice van Houten) is convinced that he is Azor Ahai reborn. If Jon fulfills the major prophecy of Westeros and is indeed “The Prince that was Promised,” it stands to reason that such a man would claim the continent’s seat of power as it’s new benevolent ruler. Oh and that whole bastard issue? The series finally confirmed the longstanding rumor that Jon is the legitimate offspring of Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen. That lineage makes him the rightful heir to the throne.

Daenerys Targaryen – If Jon isn’t interested in ruling Westeros, or falls in a battle against the invading undead, Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) is more than willing to take over King’s Landing. It would actually be hugely anticlimactic for Dany to fail at seizing the throne. The dragon queen has spent years of her life (and nearly seven seasons of the show) amassing power in Essos with the sole purpose of retaking rule of Westeros. Sure, she lost the Tyrell army, Greyjoy fleet, and a dragon last season. But with so many women rising to power at the tail end of the series, wouldn’t it make sense for Daenerys to make the ultimate power play?

Jon and Daenerys – George R.R. Martin’s novels are referred to as “A Song of Ice and Fire” series. Many fans have speculated that the titular “song” refers to the union of Jon (the ice) and Dany (the fire). Perhaps the two will realize that after generations of tyrants on the Iron Throne, it may be best to have two rulers in order to prevent one person from delving into authoritarianism. It would certainly quell Dany’s fear of becoming “mad” like her father if Jon were by her side. Further evidence that the two heroes are linked is that Daenerys also fulfills the Azor Ahai prophecy given her symbolic rebirth in the pyre that hatched her dragons. Melisandre is sleeping on the fact that the prophecy does not specify gender, nor rule out that it may refer to more than one person.

The Night King – Viewers have spent so much time wondering which Westerosi house will ultimately claim the throne, that they have largely ignored the possibility of the villain to the north. During Daenerys’ visions in the House of the Undying, she walked through the throne room in the red keep only to find it destroyed. Snow poured in through charred holes in the roof. A cold front in King’s Landing surely points to the presence of The Night King. The leader of the White Walkers recently killed and reanimated Dany’s dragon Viserion, and used his new beast to destroy The Wall. With his army on the march south, it’s only a matter of time before he inevitably reaches the Iron Throne.

Cersei Lannister – Plenty of viewers pegged Cersei for a dramatic death last season, this writer included. After all, how would her petty squabbles with other houses be important when wights start rampaging through the country. But we underestimated Cersei’s cunning nature, and the show found fascinating ways to keep the Queen around and integral to the coming White Walker War.

It would be an impressive feat for such a villain to hold onto the throne after years of deception and murder. But what if after the great war is finished, Westeros decides it no longer needs a singular monarch? Or if the people demand to move the seat of power away from a weakened King’s Landing, to say Dragonstone or Winterfell? It would be just like George R.R. Martin allow Cersei to wind up with the throne she always wanted, only for it to become meaningless.
