Candy Loving was born in Oswego, Kansas on September 4, 1956. After she was three years old, her mother moved to Oklahoma with Candy and her siblings. She had a fairly normal childhood and graduated from high school in Ponca. After graduating in 1974, she continued her studies in journalism at the University of California.
It was while attending college that her then-husband, Ron Prather, encouraged her to enter the Playboy Great Playmate contest, held for its 25th edition. She worked as a waitress after school hours to make ends meet. Candy gave in to her husband’s pressing demands and entered the contest. She then completed testing sessions as needed and, a few months later, she beat 3,500 girls to find herself at the center of the 25th anniversary issue.
Her fancy name and gorgeous curves made her an instant hit across the country. Overnight, she became a huge star and Candy Loving understood it well. She soon moved to Los Angeles to try her hand at acting while taking on new modeling gigs. She’s toured the world as a Playboy ambassador and landed film and television roles in Stardust Memories, Dance Fever, The Misadventures of Sheriff Lobo, and Playboy documentaries.
