Cairo Fernandes Santos is a Brazilian professional American football placekicker for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL).
Cairo Santos was born on November 12, 1991 in Limeira, Sao Paolo but was raised in Brasilia, where his father worked as a pilot for where his father worked as a pilot for Varig.
Cairo Santos was not familiar with American football until the age of 15, after he moved to St. Augustine, Florida, as a foreign exchange student.
The original plan was for Cairo Santos to stay at St. Joseph Academy for one year to learn English, but soon found that the kicking skills he had developed playing soccer in Brazil translated well to field goal kicking in American football.
Cairo Santos played college football at Tulane and was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Cairo Santos has also played for the Los Angeles Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tennessee Titans.
