According to the reports, he committed the crime without consent on March 13, 2019, Saturday.
Higgins found herself being unconscious during the time as Lehrmann allegedly raped her after a night out of drinking.
Further, the incident took place in the office of then-Defense Minister Linda Reynolds.
Now, with the incident being covered up for two long years and finally Lehrmann getting charged for rape, he is scheduled to face the ACT Magistrates Court on September 16.
Bruce who had been isolating himself for several months is expected to step behind the bars for 12 years.
