Brian Skinner (born May 19, 1976) is a former professional basketball player in the United States. Skinner, a 6’9″, 255-pound forward-center from Baylor University, was chosen in the first round (22nd overall) in the 1998 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers. Since then, he has played for the Los Angeles Clippers, Cleveland Cavaliers, Philadelphia 76ers, Milwaukee Bucks, Sacramento Kings, Portland Trail Blazers, Phoenix Suns, and Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA, as well as Benetton Treviso in Italy. He was moved to the Chicago Bulls and the Toronto Raptors between stints with the Clippers and the Cavaliers, but never played a game for either club. In the transaction that brought Kings superstar Chris Webber to Philadelphia, he was moved from the 76ers to Sacramento. He had one of his finest career years in Sacramento during the 2004–05 season, averaging 7.4 points per game on 55.4 percent shooting while also collecting 8.7 rebounds per game. During same season, he also set a career best with 1.7 blocks per game. He was moved to the Portland Trail Blazers in early 2006, who subsequently traded him back to Milwaukee in the 2006 off-season for Jamaal Magloire (together with Steve Blake and Ha Seung-Jin). Skinner averaged 4.4 points and 5.7 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per game during the 2006–07 season. In September 2007, Skinner and the Phoenix Suns agreed to a one-year contract. Skinner signed with his old club, the Clippers, on July 31, 2008, and re-signed with them the following season. He returned to the Bucks for the third time in 2010. On January 5, 2011, he was freed. He joined for Benetton Treviso in Italy in January 2011. After training camp in 2011, Skinner made the Memphis Grizzlies’ roster, however he was released on December 29, 2011.
