Brian Huskey Career
Huskey studied and performed improvisational comedy at the original Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (UCB) in New York City, where he was taught by each of the “UCB4” (Matt Besser, Matt Walsh, Amy Poehler, and Ian Roberts).
From there, he spent many years appearing in comedy sketches on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and was a panelist on VH1’s Best Week Ever. Huskey was a member of the UCB sketch comedy troupe The Naked Babies, which also included comedians Rob Corddry, Seth Morris, and John Ross Bowie.
Since then, he has appeared in Corddry’s Adult Swim series Childrens Hospital as Chet, the creepy EMT, as well as his alter ego Mark Splorn. Huskey also appeared as Duncan Birch, a correspondent on the IFC cable news satire Onion News Network.
Damage Control and Free Radio are two other shows in which Huskey has appeared. Huskey was also a regular on the sitcoms Selfie and The Real O’Neals.
He made some early television appearances, including a series of commercials for Sonic Drive-In, in which he starred alongside Molly Erdman. Both actors were later fired from this role as a result of a veterans parody he wrote and performed for the Onion News Network.
Huskey has appeared in Wendy’s commercials as well as the Toyota Sienna ad campaign “The Swagger Wagon” in 2011. He appeared in a Bai Brands campaign alongside Justin Timberlake.
Huskey has also appeared on numerous comedy shows, including Community, Parks and Recreation, Nick Swardson’s Pretend Time, Worst Week Ever, Happy Endings, Animal Practice, The Inbetweeners, Workaholics, and Veep. He has appeared in a number of films, including Superbad, Step Brothers, Semi-Pro, and Meet Dave.
He appeared as an anthropomorphic visualization of the search engine Google in the YouTube miniseries If Google Was A Guy on the CollegeHumor channel. Huskey co-wrote the 2014 film A Better You with UCB co-founder Matt Walsh.
Walsh directed and Huskey starred in the film. In 2016, he co-created, co-wrote, and starred in his own Adult Swim television specials, “Mr. Neighbor’s House,” and “Mr. Neighbor’s House 2,” which aired in 2018.
The dark comic series is described as a David Lynch children’s show that plays with the title character’s mental fragmentation. In 2020, he co-hosted the podcast “Bald Talk” with Charlie Sanders, in which they interviewed other balding comedic actors.
Huskey has also appeared on a number of other comedic podcasts, including Comedy Bang! Bang!, Improv4Humans, and Womp It Up!, where he plays Seth Wompler.
