Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Brazilian Visa.

  • Completely filled and signed visa application form.
  • An original Malian passport that is valid for at least 6 months from intended entry to Brazil. The passport must have 2 blank pages for visa stamps.
  • One-colored passport-size 3 x 4 cm, taken on a white background.
  • Return or onward ticket.
  • Proof of accommodation.
  • Proof of financial sustenance.
  • Documentation showing status in Mali either as a student, employee or business owner.
  • Minors are required to present their original birth certificate and a signed letter of consent from their parents.
  • Yellow Fever international vaccination card.
  • Documentation detailing the purpose and duration of your stay in Brazil.
  • Proof of payment of consular fees.
  • Valid Malian National ID Card.
  • Non-Malians are to present a valid resident permit.

Brazil Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The tourist visa is for travelers from Mali visiting Brazil for a host of reasons including cultural, recreational, family visits, attending conferences, volunteer work, research, study, and teaching.
  • For this visa, you are required to prove that you can cater for your stay in Brazil by providing your bank statement as recent as the last 3 months.
  • You are also required to provide a letter of no objection from your employer in Mali or your school if you are a student.
  • Proof of accommodation which could be a hotel reservation or an invitation letter from a host in Brazil is needed.
  • This letter must contain the purpose, duration as well as the full contact detail of your Brazillian host. The invitation letter is to be signed and notarized in Brazil while the original document is sent to the embassy in Mali for the visa application.
  • You are not allowed to receive payment from Brazilian sources for any activity during your stay, except for compensation for travel and living expenses as well as competition prizes.
  • The tourist visa is a multiple entry visa that is valid for up to one year.
  • If you intend to stay longer than 90 days in Brazil, you will have to request an extension at the Federal Police Department in Brazil within the first 30 days of your arrival in the country.
  • You cannot stay in Brazil for more than 180 days per one year.
  • This visa costs $80 and is usually processed in 5 working days.

Brazil Business Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • This visa is for Malians travelling to Brazil with the intention to carry out business and related activities.
  • This visa allows you travel to Brazil for meetings, events, reporting, filming, surveying, signing contracts, audits and consulting.
  • You cannot receive payments or any sort of financial compensation for any activity you carry out while in the country.
  • A notarized letter from your employer stating your position in the company as well as awareness of the trip is required.
  • You are also required to present a letter from the inviting company in Brazil stating your qualifications, the nature of the business, dates of arrival and departure, any financial responsibility and asserting responsibility for your departure when due.
  • Both letters must be written on both company’s letterhead, signed by a senior manager introducing you and specifying your position in the company.
  • The invitation letter is to be signed and notarized in Brazil while the original document is sent for the visa application.
  • If you intend to stay longer than 90 days in Brazil, you will have to request an extension at the Federal Police Department in Brazil within the first 30 days of your arrival in the country.
  • You cannot stay in Brazil for more than 180 days per one year.
  • This visa costs $80 and is usually processed in 5 working days.

Brazil Work Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The Brazilian work visa is for travelers who have been employed by a company in Brazil or those travelling to Brazil to render a service.
  • You must have been offered a job opportunity in Brazil to apply for this visa.
  • Relevant documents supporting your employment in Brazil is required for this visa type. This could be a signed employment contract.
  • Original birth certificate accompanied by an apostille (authenticating seal) is needed for this application. 
  • You are required to provide a police report of good conduct from your place of residence in Mali. This report should cover a period of the most recent 12 months.
  • Proof of financial sustenance showing that you can cater for your stay in Brazil is also important. This could be a bank statement from the past 3 months or financial reports from the sponsoring company in Brazil. 
  • The Brazilian company employing you is required to apply for a work permit on your behalf through the Brazilian Ministry of Labor for analysis. It takes about 30-90 days to obtain a work permit approval. 
  • The Brazilian company is also required to apply for a temporary resident permit on your behalf before the processing of this visa.
  • This visa costs $100 and allows a stay of more than 90 days up to a year.
  • If you intend to stay longer than your visa allows, you will have to request an extension at the Federal Police Department in Brazil within the first 30 days of your arrival in the country.

Brazil Student Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • With the student visa, Malians can visit Brazil to attend a learning institution for a full-time course.
  • You must have been offered admission into a Brazilian school before you can apply for this visa.
  • You are required to provide a letter of acceptance from the academic institution that you have been accepted to study. The letter should outline the nature of the study being undertaken in Brazil.
  • Holders of this visa can take up paid employment as long as it does not affect their studies.
  • Applicants are expected to provide proof of financial support that covers the duration of their stay.
  • If on scholarship, you are to show evidence attesting to it and what the scholarship covers.
  • The proof of payment of tuition fees is important.
  • For internship purposes, documentation detailing the term of commitment between the trainee, the granting part of the internship and the educational institution where you are enrolled is necessary. 
  • The aforementioned document should attest to compatibility between your area of knowledge and the activities you will be carrying out in the internship.
  • Applicants are required to submit transcripts and results from previous learning institutions for this visa application.
  • Valid health insurance that covers your study duration is required.
  • If your study program is less than 90 days, you should be applying for a tourist visa, not a student visa.
  • A valid police certificate from your place of residency in Mali, issued within the last three months, certifying the absence of criminal records should be provided.
  • You will need to register for a temporary residence permit at the Federal Police in Brazil.
  • A receipt that shows payment of visa application fee has been made should be submitted.
  • This visa costs $100 and is usually processed in about 15 days.
