Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Brazilian Visa.

  • A Kenyan passport valid for at least 6 months from the intended date containing 2 blank pages for visa stamp.

  • Duly completed and signed visa application form.

  • Three passport-size photographs (4.5 x 3.5 cm) taken in white background.

Citizens of Armenia, Austria, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Denmark, El Salvador, Estonia, France, Germany, Greece, Honduras, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, South Korea, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom can stay in the country for up to 90 days without a visa. Venezuelans can also visit the country for 60 days without a visa.

Foreigners are expected to declare sums of more than 10,000 BR on entry and exit from the country. It is illegal to bring in animals, meat, dairy, seeds, fruit, or any kind of non-processed food without a permit.

Brazil Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • This visa is required for Kenyans traveling to Brazil for tourism, business, transit, artistic or sporting activities.
  • Applicants are to submit a valid international passport which has a validity of at least 6 months from the date of departure.
  • The passport must contain two consecutive blank pages and the passport must not be torn, separated or altered.
  • All documents and applications submitted by applicants should be written in Portuguese.
  • Payments from Brazilian sources such as reimbursement of travel expenses, cash prizes, may be received by foreigners on the visitor’s visa. Before receiving these payments, applicants will have to submit comprehensive paperwork related to the visit along with their application documents.
  • The Brazil tourist visa has a validity of 90 days.
  • An extension of stay  at the expiration of the 90 days period should be made at the federal police on arrival. 
  • The combined stay must not exceed 180 days per any one year period.
  • The tourist visa is usually valid for multiple entries during the visa validity period, which is generally one year.
  • Applicants are to provide a copy of your driver’s license with address details as it appears on the application form.
  • proof of travel insurance of the applicant.
  • Applicants of this visa can also participate in conferences, seminars, congresses or meetings, voluntary service or research activity, educational or academic extension.
  • For those participating in conferences, seminars, athletic or artistic events, and competitions, an original invitation letter from the organizing institution in Brazil is required
  • Kenyans applying for this visa can also render professional services during the stay.
  • A transit visitor intends to reach the country of destination from Brazil.
  • Kenyans who wish to visit Brazil for a short stay to perform sports/artistic activities may apply for this visa. The beneficiary of the visa may receive prizes in Brazil, including cash prizes.
  • This visa is good for multiple entries within its authorized duration.
  • For children under the age of 18, both parents must sign the application form. A valid photo ID of both parents is required, along with the original copy of the birth certificate.
  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should also be provided.

Brazil Work Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • This type of visa is required for foreign citizens traveling to Brazil for work purposes, with or without an employment relationship in the country.

  • In the case of an employment relationship, the applicant must provide proof of a job contract.

  • The Brazillian work visa is categorized into two; The temporary and permanent work visa.

    • Temporary work visa: Usually, Kenyan employees will obtain a temporary work visa which will initially be issued for two years. An extension for another two years can be requested not later than 30 days before the visa’s expiration. After this four-year period the company can apply for a permanent work visa. An expatriate holding a temporary visa is not allowed to change employers in Brazil without permission.

    • Permanent work visa:A permanent work visa will usually be issued to Kenyans who are entitled to a permanent residence in Brazil. Normally this applies to professional researchers or scientists (for activities exceeding a period of two years), investors (provided the investment sum exceeds US$ 50,000 for natural persons or US$ 200,000 for companies) and manager or directors.

  • In order to have a remunerated job in Brazil Applicants will need both a residence permit (either temporary or permanent) and a work visa (Autorizaçao de Trabalho).

  • All the documents to be approved by the Brazilian authorities have to be translated into Portuguese and certificated before being submitted. 

  • For applicants without an employment contract, proof of a job offer with a Brazilian company is required.

  • Work visas and work permits are usually only issued to foreigners whose future employer is a registered Brazilian company

  • Application are allowed by the Brazil ministry of labour you will have to apply for a work visa at a Brazilian embassy or consulate or consulate in Kenya.

  • Applicants employer in Brazil is to submit the work contract to Brazil’s ministry of labour.

  • Note that it is the sole responsibility of the sponsoring institution or company to carry out all the formalities at the Ministry of Labor in Brazil for the work visa process after labor approval.

  • Work visas can only be processed at the Consular Section once a visa approval notice is issued by the Brazilian Ministry of Labor.

  • Applicants of this visa are required to present a Police Certificate issued within the last 3 months, certifying absence of criminal record.

  • Proof of payment of visa application fee should be provided during the visa application process.

  • If you are under the age of 18, a notarized consent signed by both your parents should be provided. Also, the original copy of your birth certificate is required.

Brazil Student Visa Eligibility &
Requirements

  • The Student Visa is issued to foreigners traveling to Brazil  to attend regular courses or  participate in exchange or internship programmes.
  • Holders of this visa are allowed to undertake paid  legal employment in Brazil compatible with their course load.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of financial capacity that covers their duration of stay.
  • Applicants are to provide proof of payment of tuition fee.
  • Multiple entries can be issued on this visa.
  • Applicants are to submit proof of health insurance.
  • Kenyans applying for this visa are required to present a copy of their stay permit.
  • If your study programme is less than 90 days, you must apply for the visitor’s visa instead.
  • A letter of acceptance from the academic institution you have been accepted to is required. The letter should outline the nature of the study being undertaken in Brazil.
  • Police Certificate issued within the last three months, certifying the absence of criminal record should be provided.
  • Minors are required to have their original birth certificate accompanied with a letter of consent signed by both their parents.
  • A receipt that shows payment of visa application fee has been made.
