Jonathan Guidry’s aspirations were either impractical or impossible to pursue for the better part of 14 years. Not only did he want to be a heavyweight champion, but Guirdy also wanted to be a full-time boxer.

Jonathan was on the water from 4:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., working on a shrimping boat during the day and as a crab fisherman at night.
He would occasionally work on a yacht for 14 to 20 days at a stretch. He was still a boxer, but only in the most figurative sense.
