Bono Net Worth

Bono is an Irish musician and political activist with a net worth of $700 million. He is best known as the lead singer of the band U2.

U2 has become one of the world’s most popular bands, releasing 14 studio albums, consistently selling out live venues earning millions of dollars per tour, and winning 22 Grammy awards.

He is also an investor and philanthropist. In 1992, Bono purchased and renovated the Clarence Hotel in Dublin, transforming it from a 70-room establishment to a five-star, 49-bedroom establishment.

He also has a large real estate portfolio and serves on the board of Elevation Partners, a private equity firm. Bono joined the Zipline Board of Directors in 2019.

According to popular belief, Bono became a billionaire after investing in Facebook through his private equity firm, Elevation Partners.

Elevation did, in fact, make a $210 million pre-IPO investment in Facebook. The group’s investment was worth around $1.5 billion at its peak, before they unloaded.

Most people don’t realize that Bono is one of Elevation’s six founding partners, and that Elevation is only entitled to about 20% of the profits generated by its investments.

When all was said and done, Bono made between $40 and $50 million from his Facebook investment.
