American musician Bobby Vinton has an estimated net worth of $20 million. He accumulated his net worth as a pop music singer and he became known as “The Polish Prince”. Born Stanley Robert Vinton Jr. on April 16, 1935 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, he is of Polish and Lithuanian background.
His music interest was enhanced because his parents encouraged him by giving him his daily 25 cent allowance after he had practiced the clarinet. He formed his first band at the age of 16 where they played in the clubs around the Pittsburg area. The money he earned help finance his college education at Duquesne University where he graduated with a degree in musical composition. While at the university, he became proficient in musical instruments such as piano, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, drums and oboe.
In 1960, Vinton signed with Epic Records after he completed his two years of service in the Army. His first hit single was Roses Are Red (My Love). From then on, he continued to release No. 1 tracks throughout the 60s. He gives credit to his mother Dorothy for inspiring his writing of the hit song My Melody of Love with Polish words in the song. This hit record led for The Bobby Vinton Show (1975). He and his family were also invited in the White House. He was named as an Ambassador to Poland and traveled to Poland to perform. His song There I’ve Said It Again became the last song to hit No. 1 in the US before the “British Invasion.”
Bobby Vinton was one of the few artists who continued to release chart-topping tracks after the Beatles burst into the charts where it is already difficult to crack the Billboard Top Ten. He had more No. 1 songs than any other male solo artist between 1962 and 1972. He ran the Bobby Vinton Blue Velvet Theatre in Branson, Missouri until 2002. He is married to Dolores “Dolly” Dobbins Vinton and they have five children: Robert, Kristin, Christopher, Jennifer (later changed to Hannah) and Rebecca. They now live in Englewood, Florida.
