The music industry is in great sadness following the passing of this American music icon and bluegrass singer Bobby Osborne.
His voice was unmatched in bluegrass music, and he was a cherished member of both the Grand Ole Opry and the Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame & Museum.
Bobby was one of the most innovative voices in bluegrass history, pushing the boundaries of the genre and democratizing the music.
Bobby’s piercing high tenor, unusual mandolin playing, and ability to create original bluegrass sounds will make him famous forever.
Bobby Osborne has released a lot of albums since the 1950s. The Osborne Brothers’ songs “Kentucky” and “Rocky Top” have been named the official state songs of Tennessee and Kentucky, respectively.
Bobby Osborne siblings: Meet Bobby Osborne’s brother Sonny Osborne
A founding member of the Osborne Brothers and an American bluegrass artist, Sonny Osborne (October 29, 1937 – October 24, 2021) passed away on October 24.
Osborne, a baritone singer who had a 53-year musical career, played a variety of banjos. In addition to crafting banjo licks that were inspired by other genres, Osborne and his brother were responsible for the band’s electrified bluegrass instrumentation and “completely reinventing bluegrass harmonies with the famous stacked trio vocals.”
