Robert Courtland Rathbun is a motivational speaker, author, and sportscaster from the United States. Since 1996, he has been the television play-by-play announcer for Atlanta Hawks basketball games on Bally Sports South.

Bob Rathbun Seizure

According to a report from Marca, Bob Rathbun, the voice of the Hawks, suffered a seizure-like event on live TV.

While he and analyst Dominique Wilkins were previewing the Atlanta Hawks’ NBA home game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday, announcer Bob Rathbun began to shake and passed out.

Rathbun was “treated for dehydration,” according to Bally Sports Southeast, which broadcasts Hawks games, and was “stable and responsive” as he made his way to the hospital for “further examination,” the company subsequently tweeted.

On Tuesday, Rathbun had even better news when the station stated that “all tests were quite favorable” and that Rathbun would probably be discharged from the hospital later that day.
