Rose Eleanor Arbuthnot-Leslie was born on the 9th day of February 1987 in Aberdeen, Scotland. Born into a noble family, she was raised at Lickleyhead Castle, Aberdeenshire. Sebastian Arbuthnot-Leslie, Rose’s father, leads Clan Leslie, a Scottish kinship group, while her mother, Candida Mary Sibyl, belongs to Clan Fraser.
Rose attended Rayne North School in Aberdeenshire before joining Millfield, a private school in Somerset. She then went to spend three years at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
At the start of her career, the Scottish actress worked for BBC Radio. She made her screen debut in the movie New Town in 2009 and also landed in the play Chahut at Globe Theater. Her breakthrough role came when she starred as a housekeeper in ITV ‘s The Drama, Downton Abbey
