Early life
Bhaavna Arora was born in Jalandhar in a military hospital as her father was in the army. Her formative years were spent with her uncles and aunts, to make schooling more accessible. Even so, moving schools and shifting from one army station to another marked her childhood. A third generation Army brat, the lifestyle of the armed forces contributed towards shaping her overall personality. Her love for horse riding, adventure sports, travel and riding sports cars and bikes is a direct assimilation of her Army upbringing.
Career
After her Bachelor of Education, Arora taught in various schools as a Physics teacher for a few years. She then decided to pursue an MBA. While she was only a student she was offered work as an Assistant Professor during an internship at a business school in Bangalore, and she accepted. After teaching for two years as an intern and looking after the administration of the same college, she was offered the job of a Director. She took up that well paying job and decided to pursue her PhD from Pittsford University, USA. After her successful tenure as a Director of the business school she quit everything and decided to pursue a career as a writer. However, she still accepts invites occasionally for Corporate Leadership training for students, professionals, and Army personnel.
She penned her first book, The Deliberate Sinner, in 2013 and it got published in 2014. It was rated as one of the most popular books on Amazon by Quartz India.
Arora’s writing focuses on bold genres. Her first published work, The Deliberate Sinner, revolves around a story that brings to the fore the topic of sexual equality between the genders. Her second book, The Mistress of Honour, is a love and war saga. The story spans over two generations and the narrative also weaves in covert details of war operations from the perspective of the Indian Army. Arora was meticulous in her research and had interviewed over 200 soldiers before she even began writing this book.
Her third work, Love Bi the Way, is a rather unconventional love story. In it, Arora explores the topic of bisexuality, which is the least spoken about in a country like India despite the fact that it is quite prevalent.
All her books are major bestsellers.
