Beverley Walter Risman OBE, a dual-code international and former rugby union and rugby league football player, was born on November 23, 1937, in Salford, Lancashire, England. He eventually went on to become a coach.Bev Risman, a fly-half for the English national team (8 Test appearances) and the British Lions (4 Test appearances), is the son of rugby league star Gus Risman. In 1959, he made his debut as an international representative for England against Wales.
He didn’t play in an international rugby union match again until 1961.He played for Leigh, Leeds, and Lancashire after changing codes. With Leeds, he won the Challenge Cup and the Championship, and in 5 Test matches, he played for Great Britain. Three of his rugby league Test caps came from his leadership of the Great Britain team at the 1968 Rugby League World Cup.
