Beth Cordingly Biography
Beth Cordingly is an English actress, best known for her appearances in the television series Family Affairs and The Bill.
She made her first major appearance on television in the soap opera, Family Affairs. After a year she left the soap to play the lead at the Lyric Theatre, West End, in Noël Coward’s Semi-Monde. Philip Prowse directed the play and it was produced by Thelma Holt. She then appeared in Two Men, a movie starring Kenneth Cranham and Leo Bill, which went to War.
She joined The Bill, in 2002. After leaving the show when her character was assassinated in 2004, ITV made an hour-long spin-off called Kerry’s Story, aired on ITV3. She featured in BBC’s Funland in 2005 and in 2007. Cordingly has featured in British soap opera EastEnders in March and April 2017. She has played a number of roles on television, including making two shows for Charlie Brooker, playing Veronica in his zombie shows Dead Set, and starring Kevin Eldon in his comedy show How TV Ruined Your Life.
She has worked in theatre both nationally and abroad. In 2006 she appeared with Jonny Wilkinson in the production of Breakfast at the Menier Chocolate Factory. In 2012 she worked in the West End with Sharon Gless on A Round Heeled Woman and twice played lead roles for Sam Walters in Feydeau farces at the Orange Tree Theatre. In 2012 she was cast at the Almeida Theatre, a play directed by Jeremy Herrin and written by Matthew Dunster, in Books’ Children. In 2015 Dunster directed her at the Swan Theatre, Stratford-upon-Avon, in Love ‘s Sacrifice for the RSC.

She was cast as Sara Warrington, a daughter to doctor Andrew in the British soap opera Family Affairs. Despite being in a relationship with Claire Toomey (Tina Hall), Sara develops feelings for Roy Farmer (Miles Petit). She attempts to seduce Roy by getting naked into his bed.[1] Petit told Soaplife’s Sally Brockway that Roy doesn’t feel ready to be with Sara because of their disparity in age. He initially took on a protective role with her and felt she was weak.
He feels sorry for her, as he knows about drug addiction and gives guidance. Petit said, “Sara is still very immature and has never had a proper relationship. Roy sees her feeling crushed for him as some schoolgirl and thinks if he succumbed he would take advantage of it. He’s been very strong because he’s smitten with her.
Sara tries to prove Roy wrong by visiting a self-help clinic. Petit said that this development changed Roy ‘s view of Sara and pondered a future with her. Petit emphasized that” he ‘d like to get involved badly, but he feels he should protect her. Meanwhile, Claire doesn’t want Sara around because she thought Sara was taking Roy from her. Petit claimed his character had to abandon Claire because he really loved Sara.
