The 2017 BET Awards are scheduled to be streamed live Sunday, June 25 at 8pm ET. The list of nominees was released yesterday, and unsurprisingly, Beyonce led with seven nominations. Some of these include Best Female R&B/Pop Artist and Best Collaboration with Kendrick Lamar for Freedom, Video of the Year and Album of the Year for Lemonade.
This year, however, Beyonce is up against her sister Solange in some of those categories. In fact, Beyonce got three nods alongside her sister, and fans have to be wondering how it all turns out. Still, it’s fair to say that this is certainly a welcome development.
The men don’t stay away, Bruno Mars followed Queen B with 5 nominations including Album of the Year, Best Male R&B/Pop Artist and Video of the Year for 24K Magic.
In the Best International Act: Africa category, Nigeria leads the charge with four artists. Davido, Mr Eazi, Wizkid and Tekno.
