Best NFL Free Agents Left On The Market 2023

Best NFL Free Agents left on the market are DeAndre Hopkins, Dalvin Cook, Marcus Peters, Robbie Gould, Yannick Ngakoue and Jadeveon Clowney.

It has already been a month since the 2023 NFL Draft and the teams are busy analyzing their rosters and deciding the primary line with the best available options. After finalizing what they lack and what they need, they will consider the available list of free agents.

The minicamps for 32 teams are also on the way and the release of several players by the clubs in the market is intriguing to watch.  Most importantly, Hopkins release from Arizona Cardinals and Cook from the Minnesota Vikings.

DeAndre Hopkins – Wide Receiver

The liberation of the super receiver, DeAndre Hopkins by the Arizona Cardinals has babbled up the market in recent days. As soon as he was released, he stood on the top of the list of best free agents in the NFL.

Despite of six-game suspension in 2022 for a PED violation, injuries in 2021, and a comparatively aged wide receiver still made it to the top and can play exceptionally in the tough level games.

Hopkin’s performance in the last season can’t be ignored as he had scored notably well the previous year. In only nine games he played last season, DeAndre went on to catch 64 passes for 717 yards and three touchdowns.

On that note, in his 17 seasons, he would have accomplished 99 catches, 1354 yards, and 6 touchdowns throughout the games.

It is claimed that Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs would be the best fit for the star WR in 2023. Buffalo could pair Stefon Diggs with a high-end receiver and the Chiefs after the loss of Juju Smith-Schuster mostly require a No. 1 receiver.

Hopkins would fit in creating a strong team in the field if landed among one of the two teams.

Dalvin Cook – Running Back

Dalvin Cook has received his status as a free agent for 2023 after his release by the Vikings on June 9.

Cook was associated with the Vikings since 2017 and played excellent six career seasons for the team. Dalvin’s last season was also something worth the watch. Though lost, he had 264 carries for 1174 rushing yards, eight touchdowns, 39 receives for 295 receiving yards, and four fumbles.

Cook is the only NFL running back to rush 1110+ yards in consecutive last four seasons. The star running back would be a fit for the Jets as per Tyler Conklin, who was a former teammate of Dalvin. But the Miami Dolphins is more likely the best fit for Cook.

The Jets are not desperately searching for a running back this season but Conklin clearly claims to have room for those who help them to win the Super Bowl.

Dalvin is still considered to be one of the best picks as a running back for some clubs.

Jadeveon Clowney – Edge

Clowney’s problem with consistency and availability might be the reasons for his presence in the market as a free agent in 2023.

in 2018 and 2021, the disruptive defensive force had nine sacks but had only three others in his past five seasons. Jadeveon is also known for his ferocious run defending and can defend when he is still striking home as a pass rusher.

The three-time pro bowl winner is worth a flier and can add in high upside defending.

Clowney has expressed his will to return to Huston Texans which is also one of the best fit for him including the Chargers. The chargers could use Clowney’s skills in order to charge ball carriers off the edge. He can also play the role of rotational rusher in LA.

The talented Edge has also stated that it would be nice for him to return to Houston as his family is also there. The Houston Texans drafted Clowney in the 2014 NFL Draft.

Marcus Peters – Cornerback

Marcus Peters is an American football cornerback who is currently a free agent and the best available NFL cb in the market.

The three-time pro bowl winner was playing exceptionally well until he tore his ACL during practice in 2021 and missed the entire season that year. After returning to his role as a cornerback in the 2022 season he gave his team a 37-26 win over New England Patriots in week 3.

Although his comeback after the ACL tore was not satisfactory, Peters can still be the best fit for some of the top teams including the Baltimore Ravens and the New York Giants. The player has already recorded 32 interceptions during his career game despite the injuries and can add sufficient value to whichever team he appends with.

Peters’ ease with the Ravens could be a beneficial point in making the Ravens a good fit. Besides, The Giants would also be a good locale for Marcus as they can use him to turn their production completely which was only six interceptions last season.

Ronald Darby – Cornerback

Ronald Darby was released by Denver Broncos on March 14, 2023, and has his current status as a free-agent cornerback. In October 2022, Darby tore his ACL against the Colts. He had also had the same injury in Philadelphia but he came back to a decent level after recovery.

So he can be trusted to play well when he recovers from the ACL torn. Darby can be considered the season’s veteran cornerback who has played 8 season games till now. Ronald marked eight career interceptions and 90 career pass deflections in the last two seasons.

The Jaguars can be the best fit for Darby as they are in desperate need of a strong cornerback who can turn round the game for them. Besides, The Jaguars can get him to sign a cheap deal.

Yannick Ngakoue – Edge

Yannick Ngakoue can be the current best choice as an edge for the team who is looking for a sack magician in 2023. Ngakoue always puts up a way to pressurize opposing quarterbacks.

The excellent edge has achieved at least eight sacks in each campaign and has set himself as the strong edge option in the present NFL free agent list.

Ngakoue has 9.5 sacks and 27 quarterback pressure records in 15 games last season. With such a track record, he has made himself the best fit for both Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons.

The Browns could use his ability in pass-rush rotation and the Falcons could use the talent to make a run and chase the quarterbacks.

Moreover, Ngakoue can add remarkably in attaining a number of sacks to the team he will be assigning with.

Ezekiel Elliot – Running Back

Ezekiel Elliot is an American football running back who is a free agent at present after he was released by the Cowboys on March 15, 2023.

Despite injuries in the 2021 season, Elliot gave his best in that year and rushed for 1002 yards and ten touchdowns on 237 carriers. In the 2022 season, Ezekiel rushed for 26 yards against the San Fransisco 49ers in the divisional round.

After the tough call made by the Dallas Cowboys to let go of the team’s best running back in the history of the franchise, many opinions are coming forward about which team will be the best fit for the pro running back.

Given the condition that the teams have yet to look at the list of free agents, Cincinnati Bengals can be the best preliminary guess.

The loss of Samaje Perine by the Bengals in the 2023 NFL Free Agency could easily be reimbursed by bringing Elliot to the team. With Elliot’s capability to play in all three downs, the team can be the best match. Pairing him with Joe Burrow would be a milestone for the team to return to its pace.

Amidst all the odds Philadelphia Eagles is also projected to be a fit for the running back. But he has played all his career games against the Eagles. The possibilities are yet to be seen and considered.

Kareem Hunt – Running Back

Kareem Hunt is an American football running back who played his last four seasons with the Cleveland Browns. At the present free agent market, he is one of the counted picks for running back.

During his rookie year, Hunt achieved massive 1327 yards and eight touchdowns in 2017 for the Chiefs. The Kansas City released him after a video controversy in 2018. The Browns signed him in 2019 where he mostly played as a backup to Nick Chubb.

It is projected that the Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Chicago Bears, and Philadelphia Eagles are the best landing teams for Hunt.

All these four teams are in need of solid, reliable, and experienced runners for the season. Kareem stands as a perfect match for all the requirements of the four-team making them a strong landing franchise for him. Moreover, getting Hunt into one of the four teams would be a game-changing strategy this season.

Leonard Fournette – Running Back

Leonard Fournette had been playing for Tampa Bay Buccaneers since the 2020 season until they set him free on March 17, 2023.

Fournette is consistent with runs and has skills for backfield and keeping and offense. Although not a remarkable runner, is capable of delivering a quality game and taking the pressure off the other players.

Los Angeles Chargers and the Buffalo Bills can be the best landing fit for Leonard as there is a space in those teams for the talents like Fournette. The running back can add great value in both in-depth offense and support in the backfield.

Currently, he has been part of the Good Morning Football analysts in NFL network trying some media gig in the offseason.

Dalton Risner – Offensive Guard

The top-notch run blocker and pass protector is an American offensive guard who played his previous season with the Broncos. Risner is the NLF’s best free-agent offensive guard on the current list.

After he was detached from the Broncos he is in search of his new landing home. The Cincinnati Bengals can be one fit for Dalton to fill up their position of offensive interior.

Similarly, the Baltimore Ravens can be another fitting franchise for the OG as they are in search of a protector for their quarterback. They can easily afford Risen who could immensely add to their sack numbers.
