Video: Grainy Ben Simmons 3-point footage
It’s Friday, the weather is relatively beautiful, and All-Star festivities kick-off this weekend. Could today get any better? Why, yes it can! May I interest you in grainy video footage of a shootaround session?
Serena Winters of NBC Sports Philadelphia posted the following tweet and video, in which Ben Simmons can vaguely be seen splashing threes above the break as part of a shooting line:
One can make out the pixels that would be consistent with an image of Ben Simmons.
Greg Melo of Liberty Ballers is in attendance for All-Star weekend in Charlotte, and he was able to catch Ben cashing from deep on one of two tries
Moral victories, all about ‘em.
If Ben Simmons hits his first NBA three-pointer in a meaningless exhibition game this weekend, well that’d be just about exactly what Sixers fans should expect.

Philadelphia 76ers hold Australian Heritage Night but make a horrible mistake
The Philadelphia 76ers celebrated Australian Heritage Night in their first game back since the NBA All-Star Break.
Taking on the Miami Heat, the 76ers claimed the 106-102 victory in front of their home crowd during the game which was sponsored by ‘Four n Twenty’ pies.
The first 5000 fans into the stadium received a limited-edition 76ers and Australian t-shirt as the entire organization took on an Aussie vibe.
At half time of the contest rather than a fan shooting from halfcourt for a huge amount of money, there was a pie eating contest.
Despite having two Aussies on the roster (Ben Simmons and Jonah Bolden) and the head coach (Brett Brown) it’s clear the 76ers still have a long way to go with their Australian history.
Prior to the game getting underway, a local Philadelphia AFL team took to the court and displayed their footy skills with some handball drills.
But this is where things turned sour.
The arena announcer incorrectly labeled the sport unfolding on the court as rugby, instead of football.
Things went to another level and further strained the relationship between the two nations when the official NBA App displayed the video with the caption ‘Hawks Rugby show skills at AUS Heritage Night in Philly’.
Australian Heritage Night is a great initiative by the 76ers as the number of Aussies continues to climb each and every season. But disrespecting the national sport like this isn’t forgivable.
Thankfully Philly was able to take the points and not make the special night a complete disaster as Ben Simmons finished the close contest with 21 points and seven rebounds.
Simmons is going to have to sit the organization and announcer down and show them some AFL tapes to ensure the major error doesn’t unfold next time.
Gordon Hayward lives a luxurious life, after overcoming a horrific injury the Celtics small forward is back on the court and helping his squad in the race to the playoffs.
Hayward moved to Boston after signing a four-year $180 million contract ahead of the 2017-18 season.
But while he’s made a name for himself on the court, it’s away from the court where he came into the news this week.
The star player loves spending his time away from basketball with a headset on, staring at a screen and immersing himself in another reality.
His love for video games has been well documented throughout his career and he’s often quoted his love for gaming.
But not everyone shares that feeling with his wife cruelly slapping him down during a live stream during the week.
Hayward was playing the latest game to take over ‘Apex Legends’ with popular streamer Dr. Disrepect when his wife, Robyn, put an end to things.
Hayward can be heard asking if he has “time for one more” game when response back was a firm “no, no you don’t have time.”
After telling his online friends he had to split and he’d be back to play at a later date, Robyn really twisted the knife with a savage comment.
“I’m sitting here watching you play video games. How pathetic is my life?” Robyn said.
The brutal moment made its way onto ESPN’s ‘High Noon’ and the initial clip received plenty of backlash for the choice of words.
But Robyn responded to it all stating “it was a joke. Don’t be so offended by things”.
Either way, Hayward will definitely think twice before sitting down at the computer and spending hours playing video games.
