He was born to Christian missionary parents, who served in Africa for a decade. His mother was a nurse, while his father was a Christian pastor.

On June 21, 2021, Ben Bergquam and his family got in an accident as they returned home in a golf cart. The golf cart flipped over onto its side while Ben, his wife, and daughters, Chloe and Olivia, were still inside it.
Further, his wife’s situation is grim as her pelvis is broken in three places, her scapula and spine are also fractured. And she is currently undergoing surgery.
However, Ben and his daughters got away with minor injures.
