Beaten To Death for Burning Koran, Twitter And Reddit Reaction

The Koran, which Muslims consider to be a revelation from God, is the main religious text of Islam. Muslims believe that the Quran is not merely divinely inspired but also the actual message of God.

Desecrating a copy of the Quran on purpose carries a prison sentence in several nations and a death sentence in Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, and Pakistan.

In 2015, a lady was killed after a group in Kabul saw her burning a Koran close to the Shah-e Do Shamshira mosque. The woman was beaten to death and her body was set afire.

Afghans all around the country were outraged in 2015 when Farkhunda Malikzada, a 27-year-old aspiring Muslim student, was accused of burning a Quran in a Muslim shrine.

This killing sparked a national uproar, unlike so many abuses against Afghan women that take place in secret. Witnesses claim that there were tens of thousands of people present when the tragedy occurred.

Farkhunda’s parents claim that her behavior was unintended and that she has suffered from mental illness for the past 16 years.

Social media was flooded with images and videos of the crowd beating Farkhunda.

One of the witnesses to the incident claims: “They beat her to death, put her on the edge of the river, and burned her.” Later, firefighters arrived, extinguished the fire, and removed the body.

Twitter And Reddit Reaction To Burning Koran

As people have been insulting the Koran by burning it, the topic of burning it has come up in conversation. People have been debating the subject on Twitter and Reddit.

Redditors have said that burning the Koran is disrespectful to Muslims and is comparable to burning flags.

Muslims believe that the Quran is the actual word of God, not only divinely inspired.

The principal stories described in the biblical and apocryphal writings are taken for granted in the Quran.

Muslims often finish reciting the entirety of the Quran during tarawih prayers during the month of Ramadan.

Beaten To Death For Burning Koran – What Happened?

A large crowd gathered in the streets after a girl was seen burning the Quran, and her accusers demanded that she be immediately sent to Hell as punishment.

Farkhunda had previously been battling with the mullah Zainuddin about his habit of selling amulets in front of Shah-Do Shamshira Mosque, where she worked as a religious teacher.

Zainuddin allegedly accused her of setting the Quran on fire during their argument. Farkhunda was carried onto the street by the crowd, who then assaulted and trampled her.

Outside the mosque, she was attacked with sticks and rocks, thrown into the road, and driven over by a car, which dragged her body about 100 meters.

The crowd then took turns stoning her and setting her on fire before dragging her body to the Kabul River’s neighboring bank.

The audience tore off pieces of their own clothing in order to start and keep the fire because her body was covered in blood and would not burn.
