They found out that Barry’s phone showed his location at his home and not in the forests on the day of his wife’s disappearance. Moreover, evidence indicated that his partner was having an affair with an unidentified man, and she was about to leave him.
After finding this evidence, he was taken into custody, and several charges were made against him.

However, he pleaded not guilty to all the charges. And after almost a year of fighting, the judge dismissed charges against him because his wife’s remains could not be found because of the weather hindrance.
Thus, the authorities cannot charge him with murder without the remains as there is no subsequent evidence yet. However, he could be charged again if they found any link between him to the case.
