Barbara Minty, sometimes known as Barbara Minty McQueen, is a former fashion model who was Steve McQueen’s third wife and, following his death, his widow. Barbara was born in Seattle, Washington, and spent most of her childhood in Corvallis, Oregon, where she graduated in 1971 from Corvallis High School. Barbara was signed by powerful modelling agencies Eileen Ford and Nina Blanchard and became a popular model in the 1970s, appearing on the covers of hundreds of publications and in advertisements. After seeing Minty’s picture in an ad, McQueen had his agency set up a meeting with her. They married a few months later, and she stayed at his side until his death. She wrote Steve McQueen — The Last Mile, a novel about their time together.
