Banana Yaya (born 29 July 1991) is a Cameroonian professional football player who plays in central defence or as a right back for Superleague Greece side Platanias. He weighs in at 108kg and is 1.92m tall.

Career

In June 2009, Yaya signed with Tunisian Top Club Espérance Sportive de Tunis where he started his professional playing career. He signed for Sochaux from Espérance Tunis on 17 January 2012.

Yaya was sent on loan to Swiss club Lausanne-Sport for the 2013-14 season. On 30 July 2014, he signed for Super League side Platanias F.C. for an undisclosed fee. He immediately became the undisputed leader of the club’s defense. On 19 October 2016, it seems that the Cameroonian international central defender has attracted interest from Turkey ahead of the January transfer season. The current contract of the 23-year-old international expires at summer of 2017 and the administration of cretan club would be extremely interested in extending it or selling him immediately, in order to make an important profit and strengthen the team’s squad.

International career

Yaya made his debut for Cameroon starting against Thailand in a friendly match in March 2015.

The story of the family’s rise to riches dates back to 1928 when chemist Ludwig Reimann decided to join Johann Adam Benckiser in his chemical business. Approximately twenty years later, the business was run by Albert Reimann Jr. who successfully led the company until his death in 1984. Upon his death, it was Renate Reimann-Haas, along with eight other heirs, to inherit an 11.1% stake of Investmentholding Joh. A. Benckiser s.à.r.l (JAB). But after five of the heirs decided to divest their stakes, Renate Reimann-Haas and his three siblings acquired a 95% mutual stake in the Luxemburg-based investment holding company. However, neither of the heirs took part of the daily operations of the company. They only stand as shareholders.
