Travelers are required to fulfill the following requirements in order to
apply for a Austrian Visa.
- A completed and personally signed visa application form.
- Passport photograph which corresponds to the ICAO criteria. The photograph must be in color and must be 35x45mm.
- Passport which has a validity of at least three months after the expiry of the requested visa. The passport must have two blank pages and it must be issued within the last 10 years.
- Biometric data (ten fingerprints digitally captured and recorded) are collected from selected applicants at the submission of an application.
- Copy of the passport datasheet.
- Copies of previous Schengen visas.
- Proof of means of transport.
- For travel by car: driving license, green insurance card, and registration certificate.
- Travel, health, and accident insurance with a coverage of a minimum of €30,000.

Austria Tourist Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreigners who have the intention of traveling to Austria for tourism and visitation.
- Applicants of this visa are expected to have a hotel reservation or an all-inclusive reservation in Austria.
- Foreigners traveling to Austria must have adequate financial means to cater for themselves in the country. Proof of this must be provided.
- If the applicant of this visa is unable to provide proof of financial means, need to provide the eight-digit ID number of the electronic letter of guarantee.
- The electronic letter of guarantee is to be signed by the applicant’s sponsor at the local Federal Police Department.
- Algerian nationals are required to provide proof of their economic and social rootedness and family ties.
- A written invitation from the sponsor in Austria should be provided.
- A document justifying the applicant’s stay in Austria is required.
- If children under the age of 18 years are traveling without their parents, a certified letter of authority signed by both parents of the minor is required.
- During the visa application process, a copy of your Algerian residence permit may be requested.
- Submitting the visa application does not mean you will automatically be granted a visa. You will only be granted a visa after all necessary conditions have been met.
Austria Business Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to business travelers who have the intention of visiting Austria for business purposes.
- You are expected to present an original invitation letter printed on the inviting company’s letterhead. The letter can be sent directly to the e-mail of the embassy/consulate general.
- The invitation letter from the inviting company must carry the signature of the authorized signatory of the company. The letter must provide information of the duration and purpose of the foreigner’s visit.
- Visa applicants are to ensure they have the original copy of the certificate of employment issued to them by their employer.
- Self-employed Algerians are to provide an excerpt from the trade register which validates their trade registration.
- Foreigners who do are unable to provide proof of adequate financial means are to provide the eight-digit ID Number of the electronic letter of guarantee.
- Holders of this visa are not allowed to engage in paid activities while they are resident in Austria.
- This visa type does not permit you to extend your stay in the country for more than 90 days.
- The consular fee must be paid in euro or the local currency of Algeria when lodging the application. The visa fee is not refunded if the application is rejected.
- Documents to be submitted which are in Arabic must be duly accompanied by the German or French translation of the document.
- Business travelers who are non-Algerians but are applying for the visa from Algeria should have a copy of their valid Algerian residence permit.

Austria Student Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is issued to foreign students with the intention of taking up a part-time or a full-time course of study in any of the academic institutions of learning in Austria.
- Students who have been accepted by an institution in the country are required to provide a confirmation of acceptance.
- Underage children should have a certified declaration of parental authority if they are traveling without their parents.
- It is necessary for all visa applicants to have their biometric features (all ten fingerprints) digitally captured and recorded.
- Foreign students in Austria must have adequate accommodation for the duration of their study program.
- Your application may be deemed incomplete if you refuse to include a copy of the passport data sheet.
- This visa allows you to stay in Austria for more than 90 days.
- Foreigners are required to provide proof of their legal residence in the country they lodge their visa application if the country Is not their country of origin.
- You are expected to provide a document which justifies your reason for visiting and residing in Austria.
- It is advisable for visa applicants to present their visa application at least three weeks before the planned date of travel.
- If you withhold a document knowingly or mistakenly, it may lead to inadmissibility or delay of your application.
Austria Transit Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- This visa is meant for foreigners who have the intention of transiting through Austria to their destination country.
- A copy of the visa the visa of the country you will be going to after leaving Austria.
- Copy of flight, train tickets, etc should be provided.
- All foreign-language documents should be submitted in addition to a German or English translation of the document for speedy processing.
- Translation of documents should be done by someone who has a strong command of German and English. Incorrect or inaccurate translations can lead to misunderstandings which can, therefore, lead to rejection of the application.
- You are required to provide proof that you have adequate means of transport.
- Pensioners transiting through Austria to the country of their destination must provide proof of their pension entitlement.
- Submit your application with a minimum of three weeks left to spare before your travel, in order to avoid unpleasant issues with your application.
- The visa fee once paid, cannot be refunded to the applicant.
- You are not allowed to stay in the country longer than the time allowed on your visa.
Austria Work Visa Eligibility &
Requirements
- The Austrian work visa also known as residence permit visa is granted to non-EU nationals who are traveling to Austria for the purpose of working and living there temporarily or permanently.
- The Work visa processing time is usually 15 working days, however, it could take much longer up to 4-5 weeks depending on the country the applicant is applying from.
- The applicant must make sure he or she does not have a dire criminal case which the consulate might find reprehensible to the immigration policy governing Austria.
- If you wish to stay for a period of no longer than six months you will need a travel visa (Visa C) (Schengenvisum) for a maximum of 90 days within six months.
- You need to apply for a residence visa (Visa D) for stays of between 91 days and six months.
- In order to apply for such visa, you must visit an Austrian embassy or consulate in your country of residence.
- The Algerians who are traveling to Austria to work are to be aware of these categories of resident permits documents available to them such as The EU Blue Card, The Red-White-Red Card and The Jobseeker Visa.
- People who are traveling to Austrian on a temporal basis, that is, for a short-stay of period of six months are required to apply for a travel visa Type C visa which is otherwise knowns as The Jobseeker Visa which will enable them to stay in the country for a maximum of 90 days.
- The people who are applying for a short-stay visa that is, The Jobseeker Visa are however eligible to look for work only in Austria throughout their stay.
- If you eventually secure a job after searching, you will be required to apply for a work permit Visa.
- The EU Blue Card is a type of residence and work permit which allows highly qualified non-EU nationals to work and live in Austria for a maximum of two years. It can, however, be granted to non-EU citizens if the Austrian citizens or EU citizens are not available to do the work specified.
- The Red-White-Red Card is granted to Non-EU citizens who are qualified as key workers for a specific work. The card allows you to live and work in Austria for one (1)year.
- In order to qualify as a key worker, you must be high qualified, a skilled worker in a shortage occupation, a self-employed key worker, or a graduate of an Austrian university.
- The case is different if you are a lecturer, scientist or researcher staying for up to six months, then the visa required is slightly different. Visa C is required for work considered ‘gainful employment’ (Visum C – Erwerb) for stays of between 90 and 180 days, or Visa D for stays of between 91 days and six months.
