Rachael Haynes is an Australian cricketer who has won six world championships as a national women’s team member.
35 years old Haynes has shaken the cricket world as she announced her retirement from international cricket on 15th September 2022.
The left-handed batter Rachel served as Australian team vice-captain and played for New South Wales in the Women’s National Cricket League (WNCL). Similarly, she also captains the Sydney Thunder in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL).
The Australian cricketer remembers playing backyard cricket with her cousins and using a bat made from a fence post. Reminiscing her childhood days of always watching matches on television, she said that those early experiences lead her to idolize Shane Warne before being motivated by Belinda Clark and Cathryn Fitzpatrick.
At age eleven, Rachael accepted an invitation to join North Balwyn Cricket Club, her first official involvement in the sport. Soon after, she was recruited by Box Hill Cricket Club, who later joined future Australian colleague Meg Lanning to play at the senior level.
Rachael Haynes Partner Leah Poulton Is A Former Australian Cricketer
Rachael Haynes has been in a committed relationship with the former Australian Cricketer Leah Poulton. They are currently unmarried but have been together for a considerable time.
Recently, they gave birth to a baby boy, and after his arrival, they are happier than ever. Rachael played for the same team as Leah had played before.
Leah Poulton played for New South Wales and Australia. She was a specialized batter who typically batted first.
Poulton’s leadership of New South Wales to the Under-17 national championships in 2000 helped her gain recognition and chances in youth cricket. As a senior, she debuted for New South Wales in the Women’s National Cricket League in 2002–03 (WNCL).
She frequently served as the Under-19 and Under-23 team captain for Australia, leading the latter group on a fruitful tour to Sri Lanka in 2004. She made a significant contribution to the WNCL for the first time in 2005–2006.
Leah Poulton, a former Australia opener named coach of the Melbourne Stars for the Rebel WBBL season, resigned less than a month later to take the position of Head of Female Cricket at Cricket NSW.
The newly created position at CNSW has alleged to be “too fantastic an opportunity to pass up,” according to Poulton, who previously managed Australia’s female National Performance Squad, which was situated in Brisbane.
However, Poulton expressed excitement at the idea of going back to her native Sydney.
The cricket power couple is often seen together on vacations and spends quality time on special days. However, they might be planning to take their relationship to a new level after their first child, Hugo Poulton-Haynes.
Rachael Haynes And Leah Poulton Son Hugues Poulton-Haynes Completes The Family
Rachael Haynes and Leah Poulton welcomed their first child, Hugo Poulton-Haynes, together on October 1, 2021.
Rachael, the Australia vice-captain, gave birth to her first child with partner Leah only a few days after a hamstring injury prevented her from participating in a Test and forced her to leave the India series in Queensland early.
Hugo Poulton-Haynes arrived on Friday, and both mother and child were doing well after the birth.
The Six times world champion said, “We’d been talking about having a baby for a while, and all the extra time only made us wonder, “Why aren’t we doing it?”
“Being able to go through that together and share the highs and lows of fertility has been a charming period in our life.” She added.
The Pregnancy and childbirth of the couple were made possible through IVF treatment. As Australia began to reopen after the lockdown, the couple started exchanging IVF treatments, which required Haynes to undergo the egg extraction procedure just before the start of the domestic preseason.
Rachael revealed that she was probably a little bit naïve about the process and what it entailed. Still, they participated in reciprocal IVF, which means Leah carried their embryo but Haynes’s eggs.
The process impacted her body, and she thought going through the rigors of a tough preseason meant there were days when she wasn’t feeling it.
This process was successful, and the power couple is grateful for their bold decision.
