Arik Air Online Booking, Contact Number, Website, Online, Customer Support

Arik Air is a Nigerian airline that is privately owned and aiming to deliver an excellent standard in aviation. The dream came true that Arik Air started in 2002 after the liquidation of Nigeria Airways.

The airline’s chairman, Sir Joseph Arumemi-Ikhide, bought a Hawker jet. Together with his colleagues and contacts in the oil industry, he used the Hawker jet to move around Nigeria quickly.

Due to the needs of another jet to service even more people, a corporate jet business was launched and before long Arik Air was born. By April 2006, Arik Air had moved into some of the former Nigeria Airways facilities in Lagos.

Major conversion work has been carried out with the airline taking delivery of three brand new Bombardier CRJ900 aircraft. This makes the airline the first CRJ900 operator on the African continent and the first airline to introduce new commercial aircraft in Nigeria in over 20 years.

However, it was in October 2006 that the airline was inaugurated on October 30, 2006 and opened its doors to the traveling public. To date, Arik Air has 28 aircraft, making it the largest airline in Nigeria and West Africa.

Arik Air International Ltd was founded in April 2007 in London by Dr. Michael Arumemi-Ikhide. Arik Air International was established to develop the world’s flight routes and deliver a truly global airline with world-class standards. Arik Air International acts as Arik Air’s overseas corporate headquarters.

However, in December 2008, Arik Air successfully launched the first long-haul daily flight between Lagos and London Heathrow using a newly acquired Airbus A340-500.

In 2011, Arik became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) after successfully completing the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) in 2010.

By the end of 2012, Arik Air had successfully flown over 10 million passengers in less than six years of operation across a network of 41 domestic and international routes. An average of 120 flights are operated daily from the two hubs Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Nigeria.

In 2013, Arik Air introduced a new mobile booking and launched its first mobile app to further enhance the passenger experience. A number of people are now using these services and can attest to an improved ease of travel.
