Who are Ariel Sellers’ biological parents Melanie Joseph and Adam Sellers? More information on her family can be found here.
Isabella Kalua, also known as Ariel Sellers, was a 6-year-old girl who was allegedly murdered by her adoptive parents.
According to Honolulu interim Police Chief Made Vadic, Isaac Kalua and Lehua have been charged with second-degree murder in Isabella’s death and are being held without parole. The charges were made in a criminal complaint filed in the First Circuit’s Family Court.
Lehu was arrested at the couple’s house, while her husband was caught at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard where he worked. The couple reported Isabella missing on September 13, sparking a massive search operation involving hundreds of volunteers in Honolulu’s Waimanalo neighborhood.
Following that, investigators stated Isabella was killed in August, one month before she was reported missing. A hunt for a missing girl devolved into a murder inquiry.
The adoptive parents charged with murdering Isabella “Ariel” Kalua appeared in court today. A judge denied their attorney’s request for bail amid horrific allegations that the two kept the 6-year-old in a dog cage.

Ariel Sellers Biological Parents: Melanie Joseph & Adam Sellers
Ariel Sellers’s biological parents are Melanie Joseph (mother) and Adam Sellers (father).
According to relatives, Joseph and his previous lover Adam Sellers had the children taken by Child Welfare Services due to their drug usage. Sellers is presently at a drug rehabilitation center. The two had been living with relatives in Waimanalo but became homeless, living on the remote back roads of Waimanalo.
Isabella had been living with the Kaluas for four years until, according to Joseph’s cousin Alena Kaeo, the Kaluas adopted her and changed her name during the last year or so.
Likewise, Melanie, 33, claims she last saw her daughter on a planned visit almost a year ago and claims there was evidence of physical abuse.

Isabella Kalua Siblings
Isabella’s elder sister reveals the secret of what happened to Isabella in court on November 5, 2021, in an interview conducted and videotaped by a detective.
According to court filings, ‘Ariel’ was in the bathroom in a dog cage with duct tape around her lips and nose and didn’t wake up.
Apparently, the girl informed the police that ‘Ariel’ was not breathing, and the girl’s adoptive mother tried to wake the six-year-old by filling the bathtub with water, but it didn’t work.
According to court records, the sister was forced to assist in carrying Ariel to a bedroom, but she told police she had no idea where Ariel was placed the next morning.
Furthermore, the defendants were also ordered to appear in court on November 26 at 1:30 p.m. for a preliminary hearing. The O’ahu Community Correctional Center remanded both of them in detention.
