Her real brother on the show was Jonathan Morgenstern, who pretended to be Sebastian, a spy for Valentine. He tried to seduce Clary into teaming up with him.
Jace found that he was the son of Stephen Herondale and Celine Herondale, members of Valentine’s inner circle. He was initially referred to as Jace Lightwood, adopted by the Lightwoods.
Despite being tricked into believing they were related, Clace discovered the truth and got together.

Clary is the daughter of Valentine Morgenstern and Jocelyn Fairchild, the stepdaughter of Lucian Graymark. She is also a sister to Jonathan Christopher ‘Sebastian’ Morgenstern.
Jace Herondale
Jace Herondale is an expert shadow hunter living with his adoptive family at the New York Institute. Maryse and Robert Lightwood adopted him. Alec and Isabelle Lightwood are his adoptive brother and sister.
Jace was also thought to be Valentine Morgenstern’s son for a time when Valentine tricked Clara and Jace into believing that they were related. He was raised by Valentine but told that he was the son of Michael Wayland.
His birth parents were Stephen and Celine Herondale, who were part of Valentine’s inner circle. His mother passed away as a part of revenge against the Clave.
Simon Lewis
Simon Lewis is a day lighter on Shadowhunters. He is a special kind of vampire who can walk in the sunlight. Simon, best friends with Clary, followed her on the quest to find her mother and forever became a part of the Shadow world.
Simon and Clary met at a young age and eventually became best friends. They dated each other for a while, but Clary’s feelings for Jace won over, and their relationship ended.
Alec Lightwood
Alec Lightwood is the son of Maryse and Robert Lightwood and a sibling to Isabella and Max Lightwood. He shares a winery with Jace, his adoptive brother, and parabatai.
Alec was first wary and jealous of Clary because of Jace’s feelings towards her, as he had a crush on Jace. He later dated and hopelessly fell in love with Magnus Bane, a 400 years old immortal warlock.
Isabella Lightwood
Isabelle Lightwood is a shadow hunter and lives in the New York Institute. She is the middle child of Lightwood with older brother Alec and younger Max and adoptive sister to Jace.
Isabella has a rebellious attitude with a pretty face and a dangerous aura and is often found carrying weapons in her boots. She also casually dated Simon but caught feelings along the way and refused to admit it.
