Amber Heard’s friendship with Raquel Pennington has been brought into doubt following her testimony in the Johnny Depp trial. Find out more about them.
Amber Heard’s legal team displayed texts between the actress and Rocky Pennington in which she expressed her distress.
As his ex-wife narrated the aftermath of an alleged fight that left her with a damaged face, Johnny Depp was overheard chuckling.
Are Amber Heard and Raquel Pennington Still Friends?
Amber Heard and Raquel Pennington were best friends for a long time; however, they don’t seem to be friends anymore.
There is not much information, including their friendship. They had been friends for nearly two decades, with Pennington even testifying in Johnny Depp’s libel case in 2020 against The Sun newspaper.
They’ve been long-time friends and neighbors. According to a 2016 Daily Mail report, Pennington was a neighbor of Heard and Depp at their downtown LA home.
Rocky was described as Heard’s “spiritual BFF” and a “yoga fanatic” by The Evening Standard in a 2020 article. Some people are perplexed that Heard’s best friend is MMA fighter, Raquel Pennington.
On May 21, 2016 at 8:06pm, Amber is arguing with Johnny and asks their neighbor, Raquel Pennington, to come over. Raquel states she heard the argument and entered to see Depp screaming at Heard while she cowered. She proceeds to place her body between them to protect Amber. pic.twitter.com/qWwIsJgWa3

The MMA fighter even corrected the situation on Instagram, stating that she had been wrongly addressed as Heard’s best friend, which she is not.
Heard’s best pal, on the other hand, has been seen with her at film premieres and award ceremonies. She also maintains her social media accounts.
Raquel Pennington’s Testimony On Johnny Depp Trial
Johnny Depp was caught chuckling as his ex-wife described the aftermath of an alleged brawl that left her with a bruised face. Amber Heard spoke in court about an alleged altercation with Depp in May 2016.
In the $50 million defamation trial, the jury saw photos of Heard’s bruised face, which she claimed was inflicted by Depp striking her with a phone during the altercation.
Raquel, who lived next door at the time and supposedly raced to the actress’ aid, allegedly took the photos, according to Heard.
When she consented to meet Depp after his mother died, the Aquaman actress told the jury that things got out of hand.

Heard claimed Depp kept bringing up the bed feces episode, prompting her to call her friend iO Tillett Wright to refute his “delusions.”
She claims Depp started calling iO “every imaginable name you could call an LGBTQIA person” during the call. iO allegedly told her she needed to leave and wasn’t safe.
Heard said that her damaged cheek was caused by “Johnny throwing a phone at it.” Depp remained silent until Heard explained why she refused to cooperate with the cops when they arrived at the apartment. When they arrived, the actor was not present, but Raquel was photographing the aftermath “to protect” Heard.
As she detailed Depp allegedly sexually abusing her with an alcohol bottle, he appeared to respond similarly.
Depp and Heard are in court over an op-ed she penned in the Washington Post describing herself as a domestic abuse survivor. He sued her for $50 million, saying that her bogus accusations cost him multiple movie roles.
