Are Alfonso Ribeiro and Will Smith friends?
Will Smith calls Alfonso Ribeiro “Alf”! I love it so, so much, you guys! Now, it’s no secret that these two have been able to maintain their friendship across several decades at this point, and it all began with their hit NBC sitcom in 1990.
Although Smith and Ribiero appeared in a Graham Norton talk show episode together, reprising the characters that they portrayed on the 1990s NBC sitcom, The Fresh Prince, despite Smith being one of the most successful actors in Hollywood, Ribiero has never appeared in any of his film projects. It’s difficult to believe that in big-budget productions such as Men In Black III or Bad Boys II that Smith couldn’t have found a “friend” role.
Smith doesn’t seem too friendly with many of his former costars as exhibited by the years that passed between Bad Boys sequels, the fact that he hasn’t appeared in any of their projects, and because he’s had none of his other Fresh Prince costars appear in his features. In fact, it’s difficult to find articles where his costars state that they hang out together frequently. meaning that Ribiero, with whom Smith starred nearly 25 years ago, rarely hears from him, much less sees him.
