April Rose celebrates her birthday every April 12. She was born on April 12, 1988 in Sydney, Australia to INXS member Kirk Pengilly and designer, Karen Hutchinson.
The Australian actress and model April Rose attended Wenona School, a girls school on the North Shore of Sydney, and began modelling in year 12.
She then worked locally and in New York, London and Tokyo, shooting with world-renowned photographers such as Rankin and Terry Richardson and being selected for many famous roles, including the face of Melbourne Fashion Festival, ambassador for leading Australian department store David Jones, and “legs” of Japanese stocking label, Atsugi.
Pengilly started a fashion and lifestyle blog in 2011.
She switched to acting and attended classes at the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and Actors Centre Australia. She was cast in her first major role, in the feature film LBF (2011).
Pengilly has since starred in a couple of films and tv shows including Neighbours (2018–2022), Lovelost (2018), Duffy (2016), Jinxed (2016), Brock (2016), Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door (2015), Object (2013), and many others.
Pengilly has competed on the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars (2014) and has been nominated for PETA’s Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity Award. She has worked with charities including RSPCA, Sydney Children’s Hospital, The Eye Foundation and Alzheimer’s Australia.
April Rose Pengilly’s role in the drama series Neighbours won her the Inside Soap Best Daytime Star Award.
