Anthony Cosmo Callea is an Australian singer, songwriter, and stage actor who rose to prominence as the runner-up in the 2004 season of Australian Idol.
Born in Melbourne, Australia, as a child he began training with the Johnny Young Young Talent Time Talent School and also contested many talent shows.
Callea’s debut single, a cover of Celine Dion and Andrea Bocelli’s song “The Prayer”, was selected as the fastest-selling single by an Australian artist. The cover then also held the number-one spot on the ARIA Singles Chart for five weeks.
His DVD Live in Concert was released on 7 November 2005. It debuted at No. 3 on the ARIA DVD Chart and was awarded platinum status.
