Her father was a lieutenant colonel who was required to move often all because of the nature of his job. She has photographed many celebrity stars in 1972 and 1973. Her breakthrough came in 1980 when she photographed John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono-john curled up together with Lennon being naked. The picture became an internet sensation and brought Annie into the limelight. Unfortunately Lennon was shot and killed about five hours later.
