Angus Cloud and Mac Miller

One of the main characters on Euphoria is Rue’s friend Fezco, played by Angus Cloud. Fans are already commenting on how Fezco looks surprisingly like Mac Miller, and they’re wondering if that was intentional. Fezco dropped out of high school in the series and he’s currently a drug dealer.

But he has a big heart and truly cares about Rue. In the first episode, he worries about her health and sobriety. He may also draw your attention because you can see what looks like a clear scar on his head. (The scar is actually the actor’s and not created for the show if you look at other photos.)

Angus Cloud portrays Fezco. On IMDB, this is his first acting credit. Fans have been quick to point out just how much Cloud looks like Mac Miller.  Some think that Angus Cloud would be perfect to play Mac Miller one day.   Other fans have said that their resemblance makes them sad because it reminds them of how much they miss Mac Miller.

Mac Miller’s death was heartbreaking to fans around the world. He was found unresponsive at his home in September 2018. He was pronounced dead of a suspected drug overdose. The Los Angeles Coroner’s office later determined that Miller died of an accidental overdose from fentanyl, alcohol, and cocaine. Some fans wonder if Cloud’s casting was partly because of how much he resembles Miller. Nothing has been said to indicate this, but it’s a fascinating theory.

Angus Cloud Euphoria

Cloud stars on HBO’s buzzy summer breakout hit, Euphoria, which follows a group of high schoolers doing drugs, having sex, filming it all, and blackmailing the hell out of each other along the way. Over its short eight-episode stretch, Euphoria (which is executively produced by its stars’ fellow cool teen, Drake) has rapidly built a fervent fan base, becoming appointment viewing for the generation that isn’t just cord-cutters, but the ones that never had any cords, to begin with.

Playing Fez, a drug dealer with a heart of gold, Cloud has similarly amassed ardent supporters who would “literally murder for him,” according to Twitter. Amongst a stacked cast that includes former child actors, models-turned-performers, and the love interest from Netflix’s The Kissing Booth all of which are led by Hollywood’s most sought-after twenty-something, Zendaya Cloud is unique. He is less so an actor by training, or even by desire, and more so one by complete chance, with Euphoria being his first-ever credit.

Actors and filmmakers can spend entire publicity tours talking about authenticity. It becomes a narrative on which whole award campaigns have been built and the Oscars won. Hollywood seems to be on a never-ending scavenger hunt for genuineness. And when, on the off chance they do locate it, they homogenize and merchandize it, breaking it down for parts so it can be easily packaged and sold in your nearest Target. But here it was, sitting in front of me, thumbing through photos and getting ready to hop on a bus out of town.

Euphoria, which aired the final episode of its first season last night, has already been renewed for a second season. As for Cloud, he has been auditioning quite a bit but hasn’t yet announced what’s next. “I’m down for whatever,” he says. Because for Cloud, acting may be a job—but it’s by far the best one he’s ever had.

Angus Cloud and Zendaya

Fezco, aka Fez, is a surprisingly warm presence on a controversial series centered around a group of teens experiencing life by experimenting with drugs and sex, in the digital era. Fez is the resident dropout who spends his days hanging out and selling drugs to his former classmates, oftentimes out of the local gas station.

He’s also friends with Rue (Zendaya), who is recently out of rehab but still struggling with drugs. While most of the characters are played by semi-familiar names like model Barbie Ferreira, Netflix star Jacob Elordi, and Grey’s Anatomy’s Eric Dane, Cloud is a fresh face. The Oakland, CA native was scouted by casting directors on the streets of New York to join the series and decided to go out on a limb and audition.

On a recent call with Refinery29, Cloud said he was never interested in acting before, but is now totally into it. To this day, he claims he doesn’t know what about him made them stop and ask him to audition for the role of a lovable, bulldog-ish amateur drug dealer. I’d venture a guess it’s because even during our brief call, he comes across as a guy with street smarts and a big heart. (And no, it has nothing to do with his celebrity doppelgänger — something Cloud declined to speak about.)

Angus Cloud Interview

For his breakout role, he plays Fezco–usually just Fez–a high school dropout drug dealer in HBO’s dark teen drama Euphoria. His character would be easy to write off as the one responsible for supplying recovering addict Rue Bennett (played by Zendaya) with the drugs that land her in life-threatening circumstances, except that some of the rawest moments of the series are shared with Fez. Amidst Euphoria’s unglamorous yet captivating portrayal of teen drug use, sex, family drama, and digitally driven social lives, Cloud’s character presents yet another dichotomy to unpack.

Despite his questionable profession, Fez has become a fan-favorite of the show, with a sense of morality not usually found in someone whose career is built on exploiting people’s vices. “Just breaking the law doesn’t make you a bad person,” Cloud tells CR, speaking about his character.”The way I see it is that he’s just a regular person. We all do some bad and try to do good, you know what I’m saying?” Like many of the other characters on the show, Fez is more than what meets the eye, and Cloud’s genuine portrayal has perfectly captured how good people can often find themselves in bad circumstances.

Meanwhile, in the show, each episode focuses on a specific character, introducing the audience to the backstories of the main figures. With Fez, who’s mostly on the periphery, little is known about his background. Fez has a sidekick named Ashtray, a middle school-aged little brother figure, and a bedridden grandmother who lives in the house with him, but the rest of his past is a mystery.

Angus Cloud and Rue

The closest relationship the audience sees Fez has is with Rue, who confides in him and often seeks him out at her lowest points It’s through their relationship that the audience sees his kind nature. Therefore, he has known her for a long time, and for that reason, he decides to take care of her because he knows that she’s so young and addicted to these drugs, and he just wants to be there for her.

This is apparent in several scenes in the first half of the season, during which Fez protects Rue from the dangers of his profession. Nonetheless, In the second episode, “Stuntin’ Like My Daddy,” Rue is coerced by Fez’s drug dealer, Mouse, into trying fentanyl–a highly addictive substance that has been linked to the deaths of celebrities such as Prince, Mac Miller, and Lil Peep.

When Rue says she doesn’t have the money to pay for the hit, Mouse insinuates that she could compensate him through sexual acts, but Fez steps up and pays him, looking after Rue for the rest of the night The following episode, Fez refuses to sell Rue drugs, despite her desperate and tearful begging. Consequently, the protective moments have made the audience fall for Fez.
