Anele Mdoda Interview

Interviewer: Do you believe in going for auditions to get roles in the TV media industry?

Anele: “I was actually terrified of auditions but I believe within the first few ten seconds in an audition they can quickly tell if you are a good fit or not.”

Interviewer: A 70 year old mentor once told me that in life you must “make contacts to make contracts” How important is it to have contacts in the media industry to succeed?

Anele: “I am actually bad at capitalizing contacts because I believe if you work hard and have the right personality things will eventually come your way.”

Interviewer: You have a bubbly personality of cause people would contact you but how can the ordinary person get in the media industry without having access and contacts?

Anele: “I use an example of Gareth Cliff and Rina Broomberg founders of Cliff Central who took long to get funding yet somehow believed in the concept of Cliff Central, so if you work hard somehow things will fall in place.”

Interviewer: Thanks Anele.

Anele: “No problem Andile.”
