Andrea Bondurant was not related to the Bondurant Brothers.
On the other hand, the Bondurant brothers were three brothers from Franklin County, who engaged in moonshining and bootlegging during Prohibition in the 1920s and 1930s.
Franklin was dubbed “the wettest county in the world” at the time because nearly everyone in the area was involved in illegal moonshine manufacture.
Three brothers Forrest, Howard, and Jack managed a petrol station and restaurant, but US Marshal Charley Rakes launched a war on the gang in 1931 after they refused to pay him with a portion of their profits.
To extend their company, they teamed up with Floyd Banner, an urban criminal. The brothers were eventually able to kill Rakes with the aid of a convoy of bootleggers and sheriff Pete Hodges, and they resumed legal occupation once Prohibition was repealed in 1933.
