We’ve established that not all TikTok challenges are made equal. Most of them are innocuous and entertaining, but now and then, a TikTok trend emerges that is either cruel, ill-advised, or downright hazardous.
The Penny Challenge fits squarely into the latter group.
That’s because it entails physically playing with electricity, which everyone knows you’re not supposed to do. Here’s all you need to know about the Penny Challenge.
Alexa Penny Tells Girl To Put Penny & Challenge
On Tiktok, the penny challenge is to put the phone charger halfway into a power socket and then touch the penny to the exposed prongs. Unfortunately, this will cause a burst in the outlet, perhaps igniting a fire.
Some Tiktok users had previously completed the task. They even demonstrated how badly the outlets had been damaged. Some performed it at home, while others took it to school.
Although there have been no serious injuries or accidents recorded in the past, it is nonetheless risky, especially for children. However, this does not imply that there were no occurrences.
According to Distractify, two kids attempted the challenge at their school and wrecked the outlet; in another incident, a student did it within the school grounds and ignited the fire.
Everyone had to be evacuated, but thankfully no serious injuries were reported.

Alexa Penny Challenge On TikTok And Twitter
The Alexa Penny Challenge; has taken over most online social media platforms such as TikTok and Twitter.
Trying didn’t gain attraction for being fun but the one you should avoid doing.
We believe that the Penny Challenge (also known as the Outlet Challenge) originally became popular on TikTok due to its simplicity. A phone charger, a dime, and an outlet are all you need.
After reading that, most folks recognize right away that it’s a terrible idea.
When the penny comes into contact with the exposed prongs on the charger, it can cause an electric spark, starting a full-fledged electrical fire. Even if it does not ignite a fire, it may do significant damage to a building’s complete electrical system.
